i was stabbing away at my fridge with a knife last night because a wall of ice at the back had grown so thick it enveloped a few jars at the back of the fridge, locking them into place. at one point i thought i heard something like a hissing sound and my fridge seemed to sound a bit different from that point on. i didn't think much of it and went to bead. i just woke up and it smells weird. like a varnish-ey paper smell. the remaining ice has also melted and the contents are warm so it seems to be broken. what are my options here? my head is spinning because i'm stressed out about the food going to waste and how i might have to buy a new fridge if i can't fix it

anyway i need a smoke. brb

in the future just turn the refrigerator off for a while and wait for the ice to detach from the back. Then just throw it out the window or leave it on the shower floor or something

Funny that some fridges use R600, which is butane, so OP could be dead right now.

Good news is you now have a perfectly fine, small, quiet compressor you can use to build a neat little air compressor.
I suggest next you set fire to your house so you can put it out with a fire extinguisher.
You can then use the empty extinguisher tank as an air tank for the compressor.
Check back once you obtained the empty extinguisher, i'll talk you thru the rest then.

Mine has 60 grams of butane. Don't know how big would that explosion be. Could still be a loud bang
