My AC's compressor keeps overheating because people aren't supposed to live in 115F weather. Any good misting devices to spray myself?

Get one of those cooling towels you wrap around your neck. You wet it with lukewarm water then as it evaporates it cools you. Works pretty well for me during lawn mowing.

At night when it is cold get things wet, the increase thermal mass will resist temp changes better.
So uv ir are two ranges of the spectrum responsible for heat and skin damage, glass reduces uv non transparent objects like blinds reduce ir.

Shade and an extra box fan, plus cleaning your outdoor compressor might help.

I only do this when it gets over 115 outside. to help the upstairs unit.

Thanks that's a good idea to check. I wouldn't be surprised when it goes from 108F ambient (probably 140F inside the AC), down to 50F every year.

Hell yeah I found a "piercing bullet valve" specifically intended for AC systems. I think this will work great since RV systems aren't meant to be recharged.

FFS OP.
You live in an uninsulated shoebox in Arizona. Your AC is probably working fine )or to whatever it's pathetic rated capacity is), but it's trying to cool all of Phoenix (or wherever. Probably still Phoenix) because it's stuck on top of a glorified shipping container.
First thing you do is rig some shade screening/mesh over that fucking thing to stop it turning into a solar oven.
Make sure it covers the whole thing, and overhangs enough to keep sun from hitting the sides of your tincan residence.

Dude your compressor shouldn’t be going off from it being hot if your condenser coil is clean. Are the capacitors/whatever start components that thing has good? Is the condenser fan motor drawing its rated amperage on the tag? Is the condenser fan motor occasionally going off on overload and tripping the compressor? Are we sure that the compressor is going off on overload and it’s not a high or low pressure switch tripping?

That piercing valve you add is probably going to cause a leak lol. If it’s an rv system it most likely has how much refrigerant it takes listed on the tag, let the refrigerant piss out (or recover and weigh it) and weigh back in how much it calls for.

The compressor is cooled by gas exchange, it doesn’t care if the sun is beating on it or not. Get 2 piercing valves and get superheat and subcool

Getting deep into refrigeration science here. Hard to understand, but thanks for the research topic.

So far I've added 2 90% shade tarps to the west side, and it lowers internal temps by 5 degrees.

Did you just move to AZ? Why the fuck aren't you using an evap/swamp cooler?
Actually use the negative humidity to your benefit, for literally a fraction of the power usage, for damn near the same cooling as an AC.

Hell this is the DIY board, just make your own, they are stupid simple.

Regular misting line is like $30 for 8 misters at Home Depot. You really should get the compressor fixed, though.

20% of your energy costs go into heating and cooling.
Sufficiently shading your structures and windows will help A LOT. No sunlight should go into the RV through your windows, and no sunlight should touch your windows.
Check your AC for a leak, soapy water in a spray bottle or a water bottle with a little hole in the lid, squirt it on all of the solder joints and look before and after any 90° bends in the pipes, sometimes the turbulence will open a micro hole in that area on the hot side.
Don't shoot any water on electronics, unplug everything. Make sure you check the capacitor while you're up there, look up your specific model.
DO NOT TOUCH THE LEADS OF THE CAPACITOR UNLESS YOU WANT TO DIE OR LOSE A FINGER.

if you are poor, use a swamp cooler until the monsoons arrive, then set your AC to 75. don't go outside, park your car in a garage.

simple as.

Evap coolers are absolutely dog ass in Arizona. You don't live here, otherwise you'd know that.
Surprise surprise, the effect of evaporative cooling is significantly diminished by the presence of humidity, and in 115° weather, your swamp cooler will raise your house to 60%+ humidity in only an hour or 2.

Also, evaporative coolers are recommended for anything below 71° degrees wet-bulb temperature.
At 110° f and 10% humidity, the wet-bulb temperature is 73° F.
I can test the actual wet bulb temperature in a few hours, when the day peaks, to give you a non-theoretical wet bulb temperature, but in my experience, swamp coolers do not work here, despite the theory. Infact, the theory says we are just out of range of an evaporative cooling system.

monsoon was late this year. no storms, daytime humidity is still in the range where swamp coolers work. you definitely don't live here.
