>be slighty overweight outdoorsy proud father and walk in with my daughter
>don't want to waste anyones time so I say straight away
>"HEY DUDE I GOT A FLAT" and sit down on the waiting room couch (been walking all day)

My old dad almost blew 300€ on a new faucet because it was leaking a little bit when in use. It just needed a new o ring costing a few cents.
I saw his plumber a while back and asked about why they made an estimate for a new faucet, that faggot told me that "they don't change seals, house policy".

Not really a DIY but the office where I work used to be a factory and it has like 20' ceilings. Sometime in the early 2000s they put a drop ceiling in one section that's separate from the main part of the factory office combo. I asked the site boss why on earth didn't they drop ceiling the whole thing asap to save beaucoup dorra on heating and cooling and all the site manager can ever muster is "They didn't want to spend the money".

So they've been paying like an $8500/month power bill for 26 years. It drives me fucking nuts because we make peanuts

>be me, 2015 or so
>going into a tire store
>slighty overweight father and I walk in.
>dad didn’t want me to run around on patched tire so he buys two new ones.
>dad says "HEY DUDE I GOT A FLAT" and pimply faced retard of a clerk just stares at us.
>dad is watching the game and counter retard keeps staring at my tits so I go fuck the absolute chad that they actually let near the air compressor.
>dad pays the $375.
>flip off counter retard and shake my ass on out the door.

Most companies in weimerica operate on revolving credit, the same way most people do. Paying upfront hurts more than paying in installments indefinitely.

Don’t trust modern plumbers, just recently had to replace my water heater and while reading up on it most plumbers just use sharkbite shit on the piping because it’s faster even though that stufff fails eventually, I did it right with sweated copper pipes

OP doesn't have a concept of your times value.
Also service is comfortable. I have an issue I get the next best person to see it resolved.

Yeah but a drop ceiling pays for itself in literally like a year, and they had the wherewithal to do it in one section

Hey Pronouns have you ever driven on a patched tire?
Nah didn't think so.
Also were you the greeter at this fantasy world "tire shop"? Because you have never changed a tire in your life.

Chick I know got a quote for like $1100 to change these two lower control arm bushings on her VW Tiguan.

If you have a free minute, look this job up on Youtube. Zip 3 bolts off, knock em off, stick the new one on, zip 3 bolts back in. There’s no disassembling shit. Literally 30min or less in the driveway to do both sides, and I told her she can still go get an alignment for $150 anywhere after if she wants.

She tells me “My dad is paying for it and says I should bring it to the shop”

Whatever, why even ask me then?

Not necessarily DIY-able but:
>be in working class suburb
>no HOA
>have neighbor across the street
>immaculate yard, big ass pickup that’s probably a 2nd mortgage payment, expensive landscaping with bismarck palms, the works
>clearly the richest guy on the street, everyone else has trash by the curb and weeds overgrowing
>he starts tearing up the driveway and killing the grass with herbicide
>ok, let’s see where this goes
>a month passes
>has the same exact driveway put in
>resods the grassy area
>plants the same kinds of plants
>it looks exactly like before he started
>he undid everything
>and redid it
>$15k+ project easily
I was flabbergasted

>man says kitchen counter outlets dont work and haven't for weeks
>i get there
>reset gfci outlet
>wow it works

>dad looking for a deal on livestock trailers
>find one on market place, aluminum dual axle 24'
>newer model year, perfect condition, asking price is around half market value
>looks like a scam
>dad decides to check it out
>we go there
>big ass property with new construction ranch house and some nothern accent city yuppie in a white collared pearl snap shirt, denim blue jeans, 10 gallon hat, crisp pair of redwing boots
>kids are driving around in FOUR different sxs on a DIY dirt track on the back 40
>has around 150 total acres with cattle on about half of it
>shows it to us, trailer is about 5 years old
>"has electrical problems, it's old so I'm just going to get a new one instead of wasting money on it"
>none of the rear lights work, looks like a very easy fucking fix
>dude is clearly a rich asshole that decided he wanted to larp as a cowboy rancher
>we buy the trailer cash
>get home, clean up grounds and all lights work instantly
and I'm sure he bought a brand new trailer too.
