I only carry a subcompact impact driver, that stock is funny but very impractical for what I need the tool to do.
Also at that point why not just get an SDS drill, or get a drill that's already that big?

Still doesn't make an impact driver obsolete... Just makes the drill bigger and more retarded.

The protection against drill kickback is not the point of impact drivers. Drills have had 90 degree handles that are going to be as good or better in most situations forever, clutches for a minute, and anti-rotation for a few years now. The point of impact drivers is 1) utterly simple no fuss high torque fastening and 2) smol.

>basically the only upside of using impact drivers over drills is their small size (drilling or driving fasteners is slower and there's no clutch), that's why something that makes a drill even bigger and more unwieldy must be the thing that makes impact drivers obsolete

Im NEVER going to use an impact driver, WTF is the point? It makes so much noise, for something a normal drill can do.
