Mechanical self levelling vertical lift skid steer loader.
Playing farming simulator with the new holldand L555 and though that It could be retro fitted with mechanical self levelling. So I'm wondering why you don't see any vertical lift mechanical self levelling skid steer loaders?

Pic related is a draft of what the linages would look like

Might have to make a lego prototype.

Honestly those old New Hollands are pretty good as is for staying level through the lift range. So it would be a lot of extra linkages and wear points to accomplish very little good. Would work fine in a computer simulation, but in real life it just wouldn't be worth it...

This thread made me realize I don't have a single picture of my sassy-pants New Holland L785...

So you get a picture of my forklift unloading another New Holland skid steer I purchased with a bad engine.

I wonder if this would be better, only 8 more joints rather than 14
Anonymous No.2936499
or this, yellow has been tilt cylinder location would be 10 extra joints though
Anonymous No.2936501
Forgot to factor in the tilt ram joints for original joint count.
Anonymous No.2936503
Anyway it's only about the same amount of extra joints as any other self levelling loader.
The joint count become ridiculous only because of adding it on top of vertical lift.
Anonymous No.2936505
The other method of self leveling vertical lift is of course a mast which I don't know where that would go on a skid steer.

Point to the levelling linkage.
oh wait you can't because it is hydraulic levelling.
Anonymous No.2936543
this entire question is fucking retarded. you arent considering the ideal use design of a skid steer/ctl. they excell at material moving and spreading working from a pile. they are sub optimal for everything else. if you every loaded trucks with one youd understand why a wheel loader exists. even skip loaders where better at loading trucks but you cant move one semi legally on a trailer behind an f350
plus whats the fascination with mechanical action? hydraulics self leveling has been a thing for 30 years and now its even better with integrated angle sensors. and it saves having all that iron hanging out in front of the center of gravity making the machine nose dive and reducing the lift capacity
same with ride control. its sure nice to be able to zip across a bumpy yard in 3rd gear with a full loader bucket and not have your teeth beat out of your head
everything you are trying to reinvent already existed 75 years ago on og traxavator 955 loaders but it was dinosaur technology that has rightfully gone the way of the dodo
so keep playing vidja and maybe one day you get to run a real machine

Sounds expensive.
>and it saves having all that iron hanging out in front of the centre of gravity making the machine nose dive and reducing the lift capacity
Point to the massive amounts of iron hanging in front of the pivot point, images posted are just drafts, the final product would be relatively compact.
>reducing the lift capacity
It would increase the gross weight if just bolted on as an option.
>so keep playing vidja and maybe one day you get to run a real machine
Ran a kanga for spreading wood chip mulch, the self levelling was great for not having to think and lowing cycle time when dumping to the ground with the limited hydraulic capacity.

You sound like a Cat shill to kevech over a simple mechanical mechanism that could replace your electronics that satisfy the bean counters.

every pin joint becomes 1/2" of slop at the bucket lip after 1k hrs
imagine trying to fine grade with 4" of slop on the cutting edge after your rube goldgerg contraption with 32 extra grease zerks gets neglected

Horses for courses, get a fucking drott.
Anonymous No.2936563
Point is: I want self leveling and vertical lift on a skid loader and I don't want to deal with a malfunctioning valve body and electronics and would rather replace pins and bushings then finding out why a rheostat isn't talking to the valve body controller.

Go shill your hydraulic electronic witch craft elsewhere.

Well this thread certainly went to shit while I was off working today...

Anyways here's a pic of my sassypants L785 that I converted over to standard SSQA from the New Holland proprietary system.

I've taken every hydraulic self leveling bullshit deal off of every loader I've ever owned. More hoses to leak. Stupid linkages. Get gud with the levers and learn to Oper8.

Thanks for that pic anon, just thought of a simpler plan, only 4 extra pins.

Hard part is the geometry, once that's sorted the rest is simple.

Draft animation of said linkage, didn't get the geometry right though.

need to proof this with with some Meccano.

because you want the highest load capacity, and designing a self-leveling geometry leads to lower capacities and it's also a retard filter.

>and designing a self-leveling geometry leads to lower capacities
Well then just engineer it better. Gross weight is a concern though.

linkage loaders are a cope for undersized hydraulic systems on lethargic equipment meant to be run by monkybrained gypsy peasants

Well yes machines like the Kanga benefit from the mechanical self levelling as a larger hydraulic system is physically impossible to fit.

Or I could do something along this and bam no extra pins than a regular vertical lift loader.
Long rams and bulk are a concern though.

Visibility is also a concern
