would it be possible to make a 1:1 blackbird replica?
Obviously not one capable of supersonic flight but could you make one out of aluminum instead of titanium and more modest surplus airliner engines like the rolls royce spey?

It is so big and heavy that it had very bad lift at low speeds so you can't really have underside engines. It's balls to the wall or nothing.

Aluminum's lighter than titanium, though, right? And it wouldn't have to carry as much fuel if it wasn't going to do the blackbird's job

Okay good luck bro. Sounds like ypu.did all the research

Its delta wings mean that it will have a stall speed somewhere in the ballpark of 180mph but it will need to carry much less fuel for lower speed recreational flying and that will balance it out.

Theyre about the same but titanium is as strong as steel and quite brittle like glass. The fuel thing is absolutely correct, Im an engineering student and it will only need a tiny fraction of the blackbirds fuel capacity.

When done with this you can start on a submarine.

They were made so more can be made.
Inferiour ones will be comparably easy to make.
Can you just finish the SAM first before you dream up a side project that you don't even start on either?

Do you have a hanger?

>would it be possible
yes. but not for you.

You couldn't unless you knew enough engineering to answer your own question. Stop asking stupid shit you KNOW is stupid. I get that you're far underage and don't relate to machines as what they are but just autismally like shapes, but you can use the 'tism to learn PRACTICAL skills like welding and metalworking.

You cannot build a flying replica if you are still asking questions you should know enough (BY STUDY) are silly. Study is not asking 4chan, it's relentless reading about aviation and how aircraft are built.

I don't think Lockheed Martin would be able to build a SR-71 anymore.

They stopped pretending nukes were an option by now which is why they built those and nuclear submarines since thstd destroy valuable property.
Now theyre at the more economical choices such as cheap drones for the cheap soldiers.

You are assuming a lot retards, OP was asking if it was possible, and it is

I've been here for almost 18 years OP is always asking because he's retarded and thinks he can do it. answering the question in any other way than snark and mockery is a waste of time.
