Would a metal detector pick up aluminum nails?
The neighbor hired mestizos to do their roof and siding and the old stuff was held on with aluminum nails so now I got a bunch of them in the grass I have to find.

No, aluminum isn't metal

I heard they can have trouble with aluminum and they are small nails, not like aluminum cans. I wouldn't be buying some expensive one so I just want to see if anyone has experience with doing it.

Just use a magnet

They are aluminum, I only found out they were such because the magnet broom wouldn't pick them up.

They're metal bro, a magnet will pick them up

Retard,
Magnets only pick up ferrous metals like steel and iron.

I would think any decent metal detector should be able to pick up aluminum as they also pick up other non magnetic materials.

just tell your neighbor to pick up all the nails or you're going to take him to court for all your medical bills for stepping on them.

Why do dumbasses loudly proclaim things that are obviously false as though they are experts? Basically every single decent metal detector will detect non ferrous metals because they induce current in metals by projecting magnetic fields which can then be detected by the metal detector

Yes a metal detector will pick up aluminium nails without a problem, as long as it's a half decent metal detector and not a $70 junk.

use a large shopvac with the floor cleaning bar attachment to suck them into the vac. You can put an old pillowcase around the motor and filter to save them from any inadvertent impacts. Use some elastics to hold it on there. A big poweful shopvac like my dad has will suck these up no problem. Then fish them out afterward. It will probably suck up some leaves and rocks too but at least you can sort that stuff out easier when you can see the nails. It will be kinda loud but so what.
