Realistically can someone otherwise qualified enter HVAC management from outside the HVAC field?

Yes. Youβre managing people. Not HVACs. Knowing the product would obviously help but not necessary.

None of the guys in the field will respect you one bit unless youβre trying to be the big tit blonde office girl.
I have never once respected a supervisor who had no fucking clue what I do and deal with on a daily basis.

this question seems to be:
>is it possible for management to not have any idea whats actually going on
yeah, it totally is possible, but rarely does it result in a coherent chain of command where people believe in what theyre doing.
If you succeed, it will be because of the people around you did, and they would anyway. Its not like you're gonna add anything unless you really nail the people side of it.
why trust you if you dont know shit?

This anon gets it. And the people around you are probably going to hate you unless you bring them lots of coffee and Monsters and some tequila on Fridays.

if you had a neuron in your skull you would have searched on youtube, seen all the HVAC videos there, and realized how relatively easy of a field it is to get in to.
