why cant a company make a good weed trimmer ? every brand is shit and has problems. this is a picture from my job. so i do use them and i know what im talking about. why are weed trimmers shit compared to all other motor tools?
like leaf blowers and lawn mowers. they last longer. weed trimmers are always broken. and they cost $400 or more. this is bullshit.
no company knows how to make a good weed trimmer. whats my problem with stihl ? its too heavy and bulky. all other brands are less durable and suck. there needs to be a new company that can actually make a good trimmer.

Try a FS56RC. They're my favorite Stihl model of weed eater. Lighter and more maneuverable than the ones you have pictured. Still built like they should be with proper air filters and not all flimsy like some other brands.

im sure their new white models are better but we dont have them yet.
i remember the stihls would lose their idle cause we run them all day. so we got them rebuilt and they are fine. one of the stihls the guy told us its not worth fixing. i had an echo at my house and it lost its idle. they were "fixed" but the redmax and echo only lasts 30 minutes of weeding then it shuts off. i bought a husqvarna this year for my dad to use at our house. i think that one will last. because its for home use. all the weeders break where i work at . its a cemetery. and we run the weeders all day everyday trimming the headstones. this is the most workout a weeder will get. companies dont think about places like a cemetery using a weeder constantly.

This one time, i got a line bundler thing which was a bit off center, wobbled but cut decently so i spent 3 hours cutting grass and weeds, but my hands were vibrating all the time.
I finished a large section and wanted to rest, wanted to have a cigarette but instead hit myself in the face really hard.
Then with another one.
Later i spilt water at my face.
This other time, i welded some shit together on the knife extension so it cuts a bigger circle, so i could down some brambles and saplings at forests edge, so it was cutting proppely, shit just falls down, it was actually fun, intil i ran up on a dead stump full of hornets.
They got mad and almost started to swarm me
I ran uphill with the straps, the whacker spraying fuel everywhere spilling it on me and i fell and as i hit face down on the ground i saw a hornet land inch from my eye.
It was terrifying
>put the battery in
give up on 2 stroke gas bullshit. It was a mistake. The future... is lithium!

ive come to the conclusion battery power is good for string trimmers. when you are using one, commercially, how much time is spent cutting? I think they would be viable

I was given a second-hand Dewalt and I possibly couldn't hate this thing more. Restringing it is a nightmare, and the spool likes to randomly fly right off the trimmer. User spends more time just correcting the string than actually taking down weeds.

Because weed trimmers, like leafblowers are an abomination that shouldn't exist. Whatever you would do with a weed trimmer, literally use any other tool and you'll save yourself time, effort and money.

Those are junk. Not enough power. Also too heavy. Gasoline has much higher energy density than lithium ion. Its not suitable for heavy duty use.. for smaller urban properties maybe it works ok.

No the future is solid state batteries. Lithium anything is a bomb waiting to explode one day because it's made in fucking China. Solid states charge very quickly, are much lighter, much smaller and hold more energy. They can be used in hot and cold environments too. Problem is they are ridiculously expensive and until they solve that manufacturing problem, no one is going to be using them anytime soon. They will completely replace lithium anything anywhere, especially in cars.

You should look into replacing the string trimmer component with a metal blade. There are plastic blades too but fuck that coming off in chunks at your face...
I live on a farm and have a metal bladed trimmer with a harness. There is no going back to string ever again when you get a metal blade trimmer. You just hand sharpen them with a speedysharp sharpener in 10 seconds and you go cut shit. That is all. Bonus, if an animal attacks you, you Zorro it's ass.

You should look into a commercial walk behind trimmer. It's like a lawn mower but it's a trimmer. It will go through fucking anything. There are even trimmers you stand on and basically ride behind. The only reason you have to use a shitty gas trimmer is because your company is cheap and you have to do delicate work around the headstones to not fuck up the monument.
