I just so happened across some YouTube archiving software (pic rel) so I've decided I'm going to go on an archiving spree before the inevitable enshitifcation and collapse of the internet, and likely society at large. Post some good channels for me to download and others to see, almost anything is welcome; >documentaries
>Recreations/explanations of historical events and stories
>how to's and tutorials
not too hyperspecific like how to set the clock on a 1982 magnavox vcr
>car repair/diag
>Automotive modification
If it's interesting or unique, don't need every single channel about putting a cam in a small block
>Cooking and food
Pls no Indian street food or Chinese gutter oil k thx
>Cinematography (movies, tv, animation, etc)
no trailers or extra/tmz crap, actor and director interviews ok if it's not solely a promotion for a specific film, set and studio behind the scenes also ok
>Music, theory, composition
no music videos and album uploads
>educational classes and courses
>Guns
shooting, building, engineering, history
>Computers, technology, programming, electronics
No unboxings or hardware reviews or anything else that is just a glorified specs page in video form
>gaming
historical and technical content, not lets plays
>Science
chemical work, biology, metallurgy, etc
>Nostalgia bait
Again as long as it's interesting or historical or at least has some significance, don't want literally every single tv commercial from 20-40 years ago
>Machining, welding, building, carpentry, etc
Channels with cool and interesting projects or good tutorials
>just plain entertaining, interesting and neat shit that's worth keeping

Absolutely *NO*:
>shortsslop
>tikslop
>aislop
>any other form of garbage shit tier content
Also keep political content to a minimum unless it's historical or extremely important, I don't need the entirety of cnn or fox or st louis local channel 5. same for talk shows and podcasts and other shit that doesn't have "longevity", for lack of a better term.

if you search with before:yyyy-mm-dd in the search field it restricts all results to before that date.

I know there are other search restrictions like that but don't know what they are however they might be helpful to you.
also you have stuff that got shifted to other video sites like odysee, bitchute, vimeo, dailymotion, altcensored, etc, etc

You literally just made a list of the genres the most popular YTers dabble in. KEK

Forgotten weapons for the gun category.

Essential craftsman and Matthias Wendell (dunno if I spelled that right) for construction/blacksmithing and woodworking.

Thepathoffire (this auto corrected to hermaphrodite LOL!) If you want to see some monstrosity of a man with huge tits larping as a woman blacksmith...

Andrew camarata and dirt perfect for dirt work and excavarion .

Salvage workshop for mechanic work on old heavy equipment.

Hand tool rescue for cataloging and repairing old oddball tools.

Ballinator for tool lore and history.

This is just some ugly retarded Web pretend for yt-dlp.
>>2940989
You can limit dates if you use yt-dlp directly.

Op there are literally hundreds of channels on YouTube all of varying quality. What use is archiving a bunch of videos other people like? Find a videographer you like or enjoy yourself, idiot.

>YouTube archiving software
So wait can you download and save youtube videos on a hard drive with that software? I want to archive all 1990s music videos

I am aware, and I don't know every good single channel in existence so I'm hoping to end up with a list of the best without needing to search and skim every one of them

Thanks, except for the gender confused blacksmith

>>2941009
It's not pretending to be anything, and it's main appeal to me is that it also automatically checks and downloads new videos from channels which you can't do with ytdlp without external shit that I don't want to have to figure out
>What use is archiving a bunch of videos other people like?
You do realize that more than 1 person can share an interest at the exact same time, right? I'm hoping for a bunch of good channels I've never seen so I can not only watch them but also back up videos for reupload in case of the day google kills youtube or actually successfully blocks ad blockers and vpns and shit and makes it unusable with 15 minute ads every 30 seconds

>>2941011
Yes. There already is a lot of software that can do that, but the main appeal for me like I said is automatic downloading of new videos without excessive technowizardry

friendly reminder archivebox exists
stores webpages in multiple formats (html, pdf, screenshots, etc), works on more than just youtube, proper recursive options for crawling sites, and (default options but not mandatory) requests archive.org copies as well

>XJet
>RCModelReviews
>Andrew Newton
>Sam's Trains (more repair videos, as well as reviews, which I guess are sort of unboxings, but the products are tested, he is a bit unhinged at times, though)
>Taofledermaus
>Robin Pinnock (mostly 1990s VHS footage of aircraft and trains)
>MacksAviation (VHS military footage from late 1980s and early 1990s)
>tnoutdoors9
>Bob Morris (might be hard to find, but more high quality military footage)
>46245Col (Even more VHS recordings)
>Liam Griffiths Steam (Steam Power, operation and some restoration too)
>classic airshow footage in general (lots of channels to choose from, my picks are Bobsurgranny, Blizzardthewatcher, LevierCosmicWind, Xrm150, Zinger Aviation Media, but there are a dozen other good ones
>Some region locked channels for RTL, Das Erste and Deutsche Welle also have some good stuff. If you can get subtitles or know a little bit of German, then it is worthwhile.
