Noise Dampening
/DIY/, you may be my only hope. I decided I wanted a home recording studio because I live in a small town without appropriate facilities and the nearest professional studio is over an hour's drive away. I'll spare you the whole story but a content creator I stumbled upon mentioned converting their walk-in closet into a recording space and I decided to do the same. It took me six months on a waiting list to secure an affordable apartment with a walk-in closet but now I'm here and, despite explaining to the landlord what I wanted to do, the closet space is not ideal for what I'm hoping to do. I made a rough diagram of the layout in the picture provided. The space is 51.75" L x 69.25" W x 94.5" H. The door swings outward (which is a plus) but is hollow cored and the walls and floors are thin enough that you can understand conversations through them without much trouble. There is a conduit with a small access panel (green in the image) that contains networking cables going to other apartments and there is a single fire sprinkler head (red in the image) as well. I'm on the third floor and I have both upstairs and downstairs neighbors and three roommates whom I share a common room with that borders the closet's rear wall and the wall with the conduit on it.
