Does anyone have experience using 1" hose as a general purpose utility hose? Washing things down, using with a transfer pump, etc?

Is the extra performance noticeable/useful over a 3/4? Is the increased size annoying or ever a problem? Debating between switching to a 1" or keeping with a 3/4" (couldn't find a pic with both 3/4 and 1")

General water moving thread I guess.

Hoses cost a couple bucks, you can just buy it and try it.

Obviously. I don't know where you got the image you posted but it's fucking balls to the wall retarded. The difference factor in throughput between a 5/8 and a 1" hose is 260%.

Yes, the hose is heavier, common attachments usually use 1/2 to 3/4 scale fittings. You can't really block the end of the hose with your fingers as well to direct the stream.

I use 1" from a large pump watering vegetable garden and trees, 3/4 for everything else like washing car and watering smaller plants.

I'm only seeing 1" hose at $1xx+ in decent lengths, where is it cheaper?

I'd be getting one with the usual GHT fittings, not NPT, are you telling me nozzles, sillcocks, pumps, everything still aren't going to fit even with the same threads?

This isn't 1960 anymore. They're like $0.50/ft now.

I'd just get a good quality rubber 3/4" hose. 1" Would be huge and overkill for most tasks...

I'd get a good quality 2 inch hose, 3/4 is inadequate and anemic for most tasks
