Would a locking gag that forces quacking be feasible? I'm thinking a simple duck whistle incorporated into one of those gags with a breathing hole.

Mostly looking for what kind of gag would be best. An o-ring or spider gag seems like a bad idea but something that fills your mouth would probably work! My concern is that breathing holes are likely too small to fix the whistle into. Worst case scenario maybe drilling through a ball gag?

Are we talking some fetish thing, where the other person is expected to largely be cooperating and consenting and just wants to feel restrained, or does the person actually do their best to get it off? That'd majorly change the approach.

Having it make noise simply from them breathing will get old fast.

Suggest you mount it in a gag that allows them to breathe around it, but use their lips to engage it as needed. This won't stop all human voice sounds, but you can choose to ignore all non-quack sounds. Human sounds will be muffled as I'm sure you know.

If the idea is that when the user is surprised or making involuntary gasps, that they sound like a duck - this wouldn't work.

You would need to solve the issue of how only certain thresholds of airflow will create a convincing quack. You could do this by splitting air intake, so nasal is quiet, and mouth = quacking, but is dangerous to have while exercising. I would never wear a gasmask that limited my inhalation through a small duck call ( or even a stack of them ).

Personally I would go with giving the user more control, but then having them practice until they are conditioned to use it as intended, and it is second nature so to speak. gas mask training is very important, and being properly conditioned is a good experience for for the teacher and the new gas mask user.

check: SelfRestraint on etsy, you will need to interface it with a mouth filling gag like that to start with if you want to have any chance of it working as intended. you cant have any free room to shift things around like youd get with a regular ball shaped gag

You definitely need to incorporate a uni-directional valve. Inhaling bypasses the duck whistle.

you're wrong it shouldn't sound all the time but make sound with heavier breathing. basically connect with openings that allows them to breathe shallowly without setting it off but not sufficient to blow out (or inhale) larger breaths. that way it's involuntary and more embarrassing, yet not constant.
