Tell me what AA battery to buy off Amazon.

Sick and tired of the cheap ones I'm getting from the corner store.

Those batteries with built-in usb ports have lower capacities and you are always better off splitting the charge capability to a second device

I thought that would be the case.

I just want some disposable AA batteries that are somehow better than the cheap ones at the store. They're less than 1/2 the price but they don't even last a month in my wireless mouse.

Eneloops are NiMH batteries that can be recharged with either a mains-powered or USB-powered NiMH/NiCad charger. They're not those shitty Li-ion AAs with built in USB port.

This but the pro version. They have more capacity for a tradeoff of less cycles. I've had some pros for a decade and still haven't worn them out.

>1.2v instead of 1.5v.
Not always a problem. Alkalines have a sloped charge vs voltage characteristic. Many devices are designed to run down to 1.0v per cell. NiCd and NiMH have a flat curve. 1.2v out to 5% or 10% charge. Then they drop off fast.

Just make sure that you catch multi cell devices before the weakest one gets pushed reversed by the others. Or else that cell is T.U.

Also, OP, if you're near an IKEA, they carry some good performance to value NiMH. They probably sell chargers for them too, but I use one I bought from Aliexpress that has single channel charging and can charge lithiums too. It even has a battery tester mode that I've never tried.

I always get energized max. There are afew lithium batteries that are supposed to be good. The project farm guy reviewed a bunch of those. He's always yelling though.

Energizer ultimate lithium is gonna one of the best AA batteries you can get. Its handy for high performance say flashlights left in cars at freezing temperatures. Its high dollar fancy stuff though. Most of the time i don't use that.

If you have a device that won't tolerate 1.2v, that means you are throwing out alkalines when they have 40% to 50% charge remaining.

Save some money by swapping the used ones into other devices when the fussy one declares them to be end of life.

I guess I could get the amazon ones and if they suck I can get the eneloop ones and just use the amazon charger and it would work out to be the same price.

Anonymous No.2945879 [Report]
These green duracell rechargeables are the absolute best. They have a higher capacity than most other rechargable nimh batteries. Only issue is that they are very slightly larger than a standard AA battery (probably has something to do with the higher capacity) so they're a tight fit in some devices. Like in my mouse I have to pry them out with a pen because it's too tight to do it with my fingernail.

2nd choice would be the black eneloop pro batteries.

Got linked here from /g/, casually.
I do this, use them in thermometers, hygrometers and low current LCD, basic clocks around the home. I've even left a cheap ikea clock permanently outside so I know what temp it is on my landing.

15-20 year old cells that are worthless in anything else can still deliver months on end of charge in those types of devices or even analogue clocks. Once they get to the point they last <1 month in an analogue clock, they're done.

I have had issues with my Logitech mice, they're really particular in their design to use the full 1.5v batteries and 1.2v of typical rechargeables makes my battery indicator START at half full. They just die much quicker than alkaline batteries which give the full 1.5v. You can get 1.5v rechargeables but they're very pricey. Same with high draw items like headlamps. They will work fine in headlamps but they die out much faster. Being rechargeable helps but I wish 1.5v rechargeable batteries were more prevalent and cheaper. I'd replace all mine if they were.

Ikea's rechargeables are good quality and they last a long time. My only complaint with them is that they only have 750 mAh AAA's now as they used to have 800's. I have a set of the older 800's so I didn't make this up. Their AA's have two kinds 2450's and 1900's. For the price they are all excellent buys.
