i use 2" because i beat the hell out of them. also are there any really good/convenient bungie tie systems you guys like, mostly just holding down my chainsaw on my atv

Lighter/smaller straps have more stretch that minimizes the risk of crushing more fragile items when cinching them up, the same way a smaller hammer lets you tap on fragile things without the risk of overdoing it that comes with a larger hammer.
