Maybe it's to stop trades from installing the switch upside down? Part of smart design is assuming people ar stupid...and the very opposite of smart design is Elon Musk assuming that all Tesla drivers have read and remember the user manual enough to find the HIDDEN door handle when electronics fail before they get cremated inside their burning car (spoiler alert, at least one man could not, Michael Sheehan, Cybertruck owner).
I still remember all the fires that happened in grade school because someone put aluminum foil in the cafeteria's microwave, it's common sense to people who grew up and work in Canada that you don't put anything metal in microwave, but many places don't use microwaves, using toaster oven instead, or in Hong Kong everybody just buys take-out because it's cheap, school and workplaces. In India, I think they have services that delivers lunch and collect the containers after. With this in mind there should have been a warning label on the door itself.
