Stop light
What material should I use for the casing/shield of my third stop light?
I'm trying to mimic the black plastic shiel that keeps the red LED light to bleed into the whole back glass of the car.

couldn't find a replacement part, so I had to make this support that holds the LED.
Ideally I can mold some piece of plastic that bolts onto two, already existing hole on each side

What material _can_ you work with? What materials do you have available?
In what climate do you live? How hot do you expect it to get in your car? How perfect should it look?

>What material _can_ you work with?
anything really, wood, aluminum, maybe pvc if I know what type of plastic to buy.

>In what climate do you live? How hot do you expect it to get in your car?
I live in Portugal, during the summer the sun is quite strong, so the material has to be somewhat heat resistant. PLA for instance, would never work, ABS could work if injected molded.

>How perfect should it look?
not perfect at all. It will be mostly hidden on top of the trunk's glass, near the ceiling.
So the finish doesn't really matter. I'll paint it all black either way

So wood or aluminium, depending on what you find easier to work with.
You could also cover it with slightly stretched fabric fixed with a stapler.

Just to update this.
I've found a piece of thin aluminum and cut it and mold it. Should work. I'll update later
