What type of engineering degree do I need to be able to put together this chair? I spent hours on it and the digarms show the same screws with a check mark or x to use or not use. Whats up with that?

i think furniture instructions are written for people with IQs between 60 and 90. if you can get an engineering degree, you should be able to figure it out on your own.

the drawing reminds of that movie with Jody Foster, the aliens send down some super complicated drawings for some kind of time transport machine and it takes a genius to unravel the 4D plans into something people can understand. Come on, how hard would it be to draw a close up of the dow pin and clearly show one side in longer than the other, and drill the holes so the long side can only fit in the deeper hole? Is it really that complicated for Ikea engineers?
