Routers
Does anybody actually like using these? I fucking hate them
Is there any alternative other than a really sharp razor blade and 4 extra hours of my life?

Honestly if you alredy have a hand plane or chisel then a router is pretty much obsolete

Why does it look so uncanny? It feels like it's thrown together of cheap and fine looking parts in an absurd arrangement.

desu i think i might start trying to move away from using power tools entirely
i am SICK of hearing loud machines day in, day out
there is always always ALWAYS some yokel running a lawnmower or a leafblower or a chainsaw or some shit and there's never any chance to just hear the sounds of the wind and the birds
i don't want to contribute to that shit any more than i have to
also i'm tired of wearing ear and eye protection for every single operation
also i'm tired of breathing in sawdust and glue and shit. hand tools are just a lot less messy.
also the sun is gonna take out all the electricity globally soon and i want to be ready.
power routers have been very useful for me in the past and there are times when i lament not owning one.

Molding planes, router planes, or shapers.
