come here with a grain of salt to watch insecure 3/10 men post about how superior they are to you because they bought a new jacket and a watch last week

You do get some nice advice here and there though.

Why did blue jeans even become the defacto pant? And for the last 30 years it's always some harder to style cut like skinny, extremely baggy, low rise bootcut, ankle length, flared. Is this a psyop to make the masses look like shit? Average straight cut black or grey trousers are way more versatile.

Levi's from the 40s to the 60s were so good that to this day you have autistic japanese people studying them under a microscope to make reproductions. They also became a part of the uniform of a whole bunch of subcultures.

if you hate jeans you must be fat or something else that just makes them not fit you.

Wait I thought jeans were out of style?
Are they back in style?
I went the chino route for the past couple of years but in my experience these pants last even shorter than jeans. Probably going to switch back to mostly wearing jeans.

if you're on the shorter side get them from jap brands. same brands that do repro jeans just look for the more obscure brands.
if you're taller european brands. casatlantic is p good. berg & berg does 60% end of season good cop then.
made to measure brands like luxire and such if outside the norm.
post-korean war surplus khakis are a good cheap option to dip your toes imo. pretty much the same as the more expensive ww2 ones if you get a button fly model. and much easier to find in good or never worn condition.

i feel like they start feeling better than standard pants around $200 from western brands $150 proxying japan. and you can get your money's worth on up to $600 but not all the higher priced stuff is worth it. and bespoke can run you a grand or two from the really good traveling tailors.
avoid most cheap ones -- like sub $100. they tend to be "no iron" formeldehyde coated and have a plasticky sheen because of it.
