Many bands hated online for a myriad of retarded reasons are actually fantastic for even more reasons and the hate they get is purely out of parasocial and contrarianist origin. Haters talk shit to feel special and insightful while all they're actually doing is pose for obtuse purposes. Some of the bands I love that have received this treatment are:
Metallica, Godsmack, Slipknot, Stone Sour, Tool, Five Finger Death Punch, Manowar, Creed (and all its offshoots), Mayhem, Kid Rock, Evanescence, Nickelback, and Kiss. This' a thread in their honor. Sukkk it, hating losers.

I've found that I only know how to find music these days through middle men, whether that's reviewers like Fantano or DEHH, or the average user score of RYM. They aren't *literally* my only sources, but you get the idea. I say "these days" because I formed my music tastes before these things existed through a variety of methods that no longer exist in my life.
But somehow, these people are able to find new albums and be the ones to let everyone else know that it's good or bad. How do I even begin to go about finding new music as quickly as these other people do?

Wondering if anyone can help me find this artist/album. I apologize in advance as I don't remember much besides a few things. The genre was....electronic music? The artwork, at least on youtube, had some sort of snail on it among other things....I remember it was kinda green/yellow/brown colored.

I have a favourite artist, I enjoy 99.99% of everything they've ever put out.

I only know their name and that they're still alive. I purposely have avoided all other information about them for the last 15+ years. I don't want my enjoyment of their music tainted one way or another by unnecessary and superfluous information. I don't want to know their politics, food preferences, childhood history or relationship status. To me, they ARE the music. The music is them. If anyone irl intentionally or unintentionally starts blurting out information about them, I would literally put my hands over my ears and close my eyes to not even read their lips.

When listening to songs, you have the verses, where usually most of the content and meaning is located. In addition, you have choruses, which is when a song hits its peak(s) and are often the catchiest part of the song. Choruses and verses are what define songs. Besides those, sometimes you have an intro, leading up to the verse, a pre-chorus, to prepare for the chorus and build it up. All are understandable. I even enjoy guitar/sax/drum solos a lot.

But then you have bridges, a part that is totally anti-climactic to the song, it is completely off pace, with a totally different vibe than the rest of the song, they make me cringe and look forward to the song ending. I'd rather have songs 1 minute shorter than to have to go through bridges, and I wish Spotify has a feature to just skip bridges to go to the next part.

Any random song I can think of that has a bridge, that will be the worst part of the song, and the song will be much better without it:

I've had an obssession with Karen Carpenter for nearly 8 years now. And it's just growing day by day. I cannot last a single day without her voice, and often fantasize about her as well as how I could save her in some kind of time machine like Jeff Mangum with Anne Frank. I genuinely am in love with her, her angelic voice, her movement, her manners, her life story etc. I cry to her voice at least once a week, and look at her pics on a regular basis.

fuck I've never fallen in love with anyone as much as her and I've had my fair share of girlfriends. I just couldn't help but compare them to Karen. The painful fact remains that she passed away well before my time and I will have to cope with the fact that I will NEVER meet her in this lifetime. I just want to give her a hug and tell her how beautiful she is and how she has a once in a lifetime voice as well as her extraordinary drumming skills.

What should I do? I've had my fair share of obsession with celebs dead or alive, from Shelley Duvall to Carol Kane to Winona Ryder but there's just something about Karen that drives me absolutely insane.
