I don’t run for exercise. I run so that some day I can do ultramarathons in exotic locations.

>Kills gains
Incorrect.
>Destroys your knees and ankles from consistent overuse
Only if you are stupid enough to run with bad form.
>Doesn't even burn that much calories for the amount of work you put in. Exercise your willpower and discipline instead and eat less, CICO
It burns enough calories and conditions your body. It requires enough discipline to filter retards like you whilst remaining fun for the the rest of us.
>Same or even greater amount of cardiovascular conditioning can be achieved through weightlifting in a shorter amount of time as long as you're strength training and not powershitting. You should also be breathing freely. Why limit yourself to one form of exercise?
>the other mental and health benefits of running can be achieved by just walking outside
When was the last time you heard of someone getting “Walker’s High”, my ESL friend? Running is obviously the superior exercise.

I run 10km+ once a week and I've never experienced a "runner's high". For me it's more like "runner's torture until it's finished and then I get to relax and feel good about not having to run again for another week". I still think running is great exercise and everybody should do it, but I've never experienced the runner's high and I think it's actually a psyop to demotivate people from running because they think it's meant to feel good and not challenging, and I'm always right about these things.

It doesn't burn that much as you're running but putting your body under consistent work will have exponential impact over time.

If you're not doing it for exercise then you can do that right now. You won't be good, but that was never your goal, right? Or was it secretly your goal all along and you're just lying to us all for a laugh? Debunked.

If weightlifting improves cardio just as much as running or more, then why are long distance races not populated by weightlifters?

Clearly you’re not if you don’t experience the runner’s high. I run 4x a week and my mood is constantly at least 7 out of 10, and it peaks after runs. Maybe you just have a shit life and running can’t compensate for it? You should look into it.

Why do 4channers always reveal a personal preference then try to convince everyone else to adhere to it?

Does OP seriously expect that after he posted this thread everyone on the planet would stop running, forever?

Or could it be autism?

>I got filtered by the hedonistic paradox
I went for a run just now, a mile around the block, and now I feel calm and refreshed. Running is good for your body, mood, cognition, and it even improves your circulation. If you want to be an unfit depressed retard who can’t get a full erection, then be my guest. I’ll fuck your oneitis for you :)

The average person on fitness can’t do an ultra. There are cut off times that prevent someone from walking the entire thing.

My goal would be a respectable time and to wife up a cardio bunny along the way.
