I want to be able to train the glute max in isolation. I can only think of three machines that can allow this to happen: the belt hip thrust machine, the reverse hyperextension machine, and the hip extension machine. The issue with the hip thrust machine is that it also works out your spinal erectors a bit and possibly some of your hamstrings, the reverse hyperextension machine will work out a lot of your hamstrings and some of your spinal erectors, and most hip extension machines are essentially just weighted donkey kicks, so they're going to be hitting your quads more than your glutes, and they're going to feel really awkward.
The hip extension machine in this video appears to be best machine for isolation the glute max, and it also looks super comfortable. Correct me if I'm wrong. You lay down and are strapped down with a seatbelt. I would love to own one of these. I have a small home gym that I often work out in, but I also go out to use other equipment and machines at some of my local gyms. I have enough room in my home gym to fit one or two machines, and after months of contemplation, I believe this would be one of them. I just want to know where I can find these. (The one in OP image clearly sucks, as if you're pretty strong, you're going to be launching yourself up when trying to do the lift, which is one a laying down version where you can strap yourself down, like the one in the video, is superior.)
