Can you progressively overload in the gym when you are cutting? Can you build muscle while losing significant amounts of fat?

I am a fat fuck piece of lard and I wonder if there's even any point to me doing weight lifting, or if I should just do a ton of cardio and lose the weight first. I have no muscle anyways and everything I read online has told me that you cannot build muscle while losing fat if your goal is to lose fat at a fairly brisk rate.

Please don't just regurgitate to me what the current science meta from Jeff NIppard / MIke Israetel / Eric Helms is, I'm wondering if anyone actually has experienced rapid muscle gains in conjunction wtih rapid fat loss themselves

I will give a (you) to everyone who replies to me btw, pls help me out

If you're completely untrained you can probably gain some muscle.

If you lift while losing weight, even if you don't gain strength, you help ensure that the weight you are losing is more likely to be fat than muscle.

On the other hand it's just really demoralizing pick up strength training as a hobby, and consistently to go to the gym day after day, week after week, only to get weaker and weaker the whole time.

exactly my feelings, plus, I don't have any muscle to begin with at all... It's not like I"m worried about losing my 400 lb bench press or something
