I'm someone who wasted my 20s and now I'm almost entering my mid 30s still at ground zero of life. And every day for nearly three years, just thinking about this, 16 hours a day, from when I wake up until I go to sleep. Just always on either the forefront of my mind, or always running in the background so that as soon as there's anything that isn't distracting me, it immediately pops right into my mind.

I've been friends with forney and we are close to the same age. He is right that you should not waste your time and you should settle down. I let myself go and never really pursued anything substantial other than trying to get out of debt and get a comfortable life in my 20s. That is the biggest mistake because I could've done more and retreated into myself less because the dating pool now sucks with broken women in my 30s. On the flip side. I have had like 6-7 different women in the last year (Only 1 was fishing for my money) and that is more than I ever did before, it is just that most of them do not matter at all. Most guys are losers no matter what, and it has nothing to do with some magic number. If you were on the right track in your 20s, it's likely (though not guaranteed) that your 30s will be the same. If you were a loser in your 20s, you will probably stay a loser in your 30s. That's not guaranteed either, because you can always do something to change it, but most people won't. That's what makes them losers to begin with.

I think people make a mistake by focusing this notion of "peaking".

I have a weight routine to make the most of my health and I cycle to work.
I make lists of books to read for professional usage and personal pleasure.
I try to improve my relationship with friends/family by being responsible and doing nice things for them, often from reminders I've left myself.

I don't want any year to be my "peak" but I want every year to be as full of life, growth & happiness as I can make it.
If I can't lift heavy at 90 I'll be lifting whatever I can for the greatest personal good.

It seems a much healthier attitude to just do your best and let be what will be rather than worrying about hills and troughs.

If you continue to grow, you will never peak. You may not be able to get the things you wanted when you were younger, but, if you still want the same things you did when you were younger, then you haven't grown.

1 thing that is sure is that you fuck all before you're 30s - you can't just begin late and expect to get to your best physical state.

I did this. Worked out 20-35 then nothing for 10 years, put on a ton of weight, lost the fat and then got my form back - and more in my 50s.

I think it's mostly drug abuse by most people (mainly alcohol), who arent honest with themselves and others. Like i got black out drunk from 14-21 almost every weekend and than slowed down until I almost gave up the booze completly by my mid twenties. Getting drunl a couple of times a year is not a problem O think, but the amount of people alobbwring down that poison and denying they have a problem is astounding. I look to my father as a reason for why my life will always be useless in older age so it doesn't matter, and about men peaking in their 30s.

He did a lot of things "right". He got higher education and a good job thats actually also important to society, he got married to my mom and never got divorced (but spent a long time of my childhood threatening it), he had a child when he was prepared for it (but pretty late, he was 39), he saved and invested a lot of money to become somewhat wealthy. He owns a very valuable house (surely $1m+) and they purchased another home in another state to rent out and then eventually move into.

However, outside of the financial things, which you might have noticed is almost all I listed, his life is pretty useless. His only child (me) turned out to be an absolute, complete loser, the only good thing I've done is not be a criminal or drug addict, and I myself am in my 30s as well. I've never in my entire life ever seen him have a friend. He has absolutely zero hobbies whatsoever and spends his nights watching television or youtube. He retired at the regular age, then just immediately became self-employed to do the exact same work he spent his whole life doing, almost typical work schedule, goes on business trips, etc. If he didn't still work, he would likely literally just sit on the couch all day every day watching tv/youtube. He barely even has a relationship with me, we barely speak, never do anything together, etc.

So yeah, considering what an absolute loser I am, that future would be the BEST case scenario, getting a bunch of money to live comfortably. But ending up with a complete loser son who you're ashamed of, no hobbies, no friends, and a wife you're probably only with because you would be alone if you left her, dying with no one remmebering or caring about you and no legacy, that's still a miserable fucking existence. What we have in common is that we shoot the shit together at the weekends. That's maybe 16 out of 168 hours a week, the other 90% I do what I can to stay reasonably healthy.

Like I said I have been lifting for 3 years straight and now I'm slowing down because even after 3 years I just don't feel any sense of accomplishment from it even though I can see and feel I'm much stronger. I didn't feel any sense of accomplishment when I got my job or from having more money than I really need, which should be a big accomplishment considering most people with the 'tism end up unemployed. I don't feel any accomplishment from successfully seducing a woman either, which is also kind of a big feat considering my circumstances and how much work I have to put in, but I just don't feel the pay off.
When your brain doesn't reward you for doing shit, what's the motivation for doing it? I know it's a cope, but it feels like coping and accepting this is the best option for me at this point to avoid feeling worse about it.

They were probably just far more brutally honest about what someone's value and worth to the community was. Someone who is crippled or retarded is de facto lower on the social hierarchy than someone who is capable, fit, and attractive. And for good reason; the latter will reproduce, bring good things to those around them and contribute to the future of the community effectively. The former will not do so to nearly the same level and may well be a drain.That hasn't changed, but we're expected to say it has. So you have a bunch of people lied to by "well meaning" sorts who will pay lip service to equality but still actively respect the natural hierarchies that humans unconsciously adhere to.
