Gym prices are getting ridiculous. How are you coping?

Just start your own home gym bro. All you need is some basic equipment. Train whenever you want, no people hogging the equipment, no jeets and the best part is they won't be able to jew you out of your own gym. Trust me bro, it's awesome

TRX hung from garage ceiling. Rowing machine. Perfect push-up handles. Running shoes. I'm not training to compete, so that's all I need. All in, about a thousand bucks Canadian, like $700 US and most of that is in the rower, which running shoes can replace.

My gym price onpy increases for new members. I'm still paying the original price it was like 6 years ago.

my employer pays for a card that lets me enter every gym/pool/whatever in poland for free and my copay is ~$8 a month. all large companies in poland offer these, and yet most employees are still fat fucks who never exercise.

Just live in a shithole town in England, I pay like £200 a year and get free bananas and coffee, energy drinks are dirt cheap there too and the equipment is pretty good, the benefits of being in a shithole is that nobody has money so everything is cheap, the downsides are the constant interactions with crackheads, but as long as you only ever leave your house to workout or go to work, all is good

I simply make more money. I've job hopped every 1-1.5 years through past coworkers, recruiters, or even old classmates from college. I also attend conferences and conventions and make sure I make at least 3 connections every time.
This has allowed me to secure 20% pay increases each time rather than the typical 3-5% raise that an employer will give you every year. In one particularly satisfying case I was the leader in my department and only got a 3% raise, walked out mid-review and called back the recruiter who was eager to give me an interview.

I go to ymca, it’s 45 bucks but I swim a lot so I guess it has its real uses. The place is also super clean compared to the LA fitness.

I'm just making due with planet fitness. It works because I'm just trying to lose weight so I'm just doing light cardio and some free weight stuff 3 times a week. Once I get to my goal weight, I might want to go to a real gym but that's a problem for future me

I don't even have a real home gym and I can train well at home with weighted pullups/hspu/ pistol squats/situps, heavy compound movements with sandbags, isolation exercises with dumbbells and so on. The only thing I need the gym for is barbell squats and clean&jerks, so I just buy a single entry now and then and it's enough for me to make slow progress on those also.

I lift in the privacy, comfort, accessibility and privacy of my own domicile. My equipment is only used by me; it is custom set to my exercises of choice. I never have to wait for my turn to use it. I can blast whatever music I want from my own speaker. I can start cooking dinner as I finish up my workout. I can lift in a ridiculous outfit, or none at all if I feel like it. I can wait as long as I want between sets without being bothered. I can lift every day and do 1 exercise a day if I feel like it and the gas and time won't make it a bad trade-off.
I was forced to use a public gym this year for over 6 weeks. How anyone does this long term is a mystery to me. It's really no wonder most people stop going to the gym after a couple of months. The atmosphere and clientele are some of the most insufferable I have ever had the displeasure of experiencing.
Don't be part of the lumpenprole still paying to share equipment. Ascend to the master race. Invest in a home gym today.
