Any of you autists trying this? If so, how is it going?

I just started this week. Not sure about the fat loss yet but Iโ€™m feeling pretty good.

For those who donโ€™t know, sugar fasting/diet is basically a high carb, high sugar, low fat diet with lean protein thrown in every night to every third night. Youโ€™re supposed to eat mainly fruit, honey, and other whole foods but some people cheat with candy.

The point of the diet is to not only lower calories by eliminating fat but also to stimulate metabolism. I personally find itโ€™s easier to stick to as well. When you do get cravings, itโ€™s for a steak, which is better than the cravings for McDonaldโ€™s or junk food that you get in other diets.

I just discovered this today. Came here to see if anyone was talking about it, still trying to figure out what the fuck is going on, like what the fuck even is the full protocol and the logic to all of the specific details. Apparently I'm late to the party. The snake diet guy seems to have been early to the fad, started shilling it about 6 months ago and he's already gone full circle, now he's shilling an old school low fat high carb diet lol. Already lean but I'll probably try it at some point if only because it apparently has helped people quit caffeine.

One question I have is meal frequency. I assumed it would be frequent because you'd otherwise have huge blood sugar and insulin spikes and crashes, but apparently snike diet man suggests 2 meals a day? Then other times he contradicts himself and talks about just eating sugar all fucking day. What about your teeth?

Who's version are you following and what does it look like? I'm very out of the loop on this one.

It's not actual fasting in the literal sense, or it would just be called "fasting". It's basically the same idea behind the master cleanse or a juice "fast". The claim is that simple sugars(not starches or complex carbs) in the absence of fat and protein (this is key allegedly) cause some hormone called FGF-21and between this and a few other factors the result is your metabolism goes way up and your insulin sensitivity improves drastically. This, combined with the fact that you'll always have plenty of glycogen means you have tons of energy. Or something. Idk, I'm just learning about it. I'll probably try it because I try everything. I don't think it's meant for long term, just rapid weight loss while still having lots of energy. Can't imagine it's good for your teeth.

I think it's just supposed to be a short term tool for weight loss and improving insulin sensitivity, as counter intuitive as it might seem. Then again, I can't really picture someone getting fat eating only fruit, and this isn't much different. Nothing is worse in the long run than staying fat though.

Ok. You've caught my attention. How does it affect insulin response? I can see and understand someone getting full with fruit but wouldn't this destroy your gut and teeth enamel if you used this as a weight loss method? Also, do you still need to supplement electrolytes?

It would spike your blood glucose into oblivion which would cause insulin to be dumped, putting stress on the pancreas. Every cell in your body would get crammed full of glucose until near bursting, at which point the glucose would be shoved into the liver causing cirrhosis. And your body would go into mega hyper drive making new fat cells.
It's a VIP ticket to diabetes town unless you are exercising like a freak. I haven't done the math but I imagine the work required to burn that glucose as it is consumed it monumental.

Allegedly it improves insulin sensitivity. I don't see why the macros and foods that are most easily digestible to the human body would destroy your gut. As for teeth, just brush them after eating like you would normally. As for electrolytes I don't know. Do people who do juice and/or fruit "cleanses" or whatever bother? This is basically the same thing.
>>76448747
No, I literally just stumbled onto this today on youtube and started using chatgpt to see if the individual components to the basic theory behind are consistent with or at least plausible based on general medical knowledge and nutrition research. So far I'm convinced it's at least worth trying out for myself and that it won't kill me but I'm already lean and on pretty great health overall aside from my caffeine usage. My general diet is just to eat clean, high protein, and cico.
>>76448972
It's still cico though. The idea is FGF-21 increases your insulin sensitivity, which increases your metabolism of simple sugars, which also gives you a shit don't of energy. You're supposed to exercise on this kind of diet, a lot, this just makes you feel Ike you have tons of energy while calorie restricted, and apparently it's also surprisingly muscle sparing.

Again, allegedly. I'm not OP, I just stumbled onto it to today, haven't tried it yet but I'm the type to try everything and and track it all because all I give a shit about is what does or doesn't work for me and my own personal results. What works for one person doesn't always work for everyone.

>>76449048
That was my first thought too. Apparently it's primarily the FGF-21 reaposnible for all the counter intuitive results which is largely due to the absence of protein. The absence of fat also means the sugar can be absorbed and metabolized immediately without the fat slowing absorption and thus increasing how long your insulin stays elevated. Instead, your insulin spikes, does it's job very efficiently, then immediately comes back down. I'm guessing you'd want strictly avoid any snacking and stick to 2-3 meals this way. I have a lot of question myself still that I need to answer before I'm going to try it.

It's a fad for normies right now but there's a history to it. Even rich priana discovered a variation of it on his own that he swore by for a while. He just ate nothing but white rice all day and saved his protein for the last meal of the day, swore it gave him tons of energy and was the easiest diet he ever tried.

I have been doing it for about 2 years now, occasionally (2 weeks or so every few months)
The daily diet consists of raw easy fruit with coffee and cocoa in the morning (mostly apples and bananas), occasionally some bread with honey for a bit more bite during the mid day when I also go to the gym, fruit syrup that I made at home and rarely drink some wine especially during the evening if I haven't ate anything. Works incredibly well for weight loss and I have ZERO cravings. Absolutely no cravings at all, during the time there is never any craving to go buy some crappy food or binge eating some shit. Also energybis thought the roof, I work full time, go to the gym, and i also have a wife and family to take care of.
It's also mostly in line with my orthodox practices and also to shed the body of fat, and works well with my belief that humans were primarily frugivore with the occasional meat thrown in during opportune times.
Unrelated to the "sugar diet", I also don't believe that we should have a very consistent diet of eating the same things over and over (but the modern "variety" diet is also bad). I think we should have periods of sparse eating, or mostly fruit, or periods of mostly meat and dairy, eggs, or even full fasting periods.
For example during the summer I believe this raw fruit diet works well, and during winter we can eat more animal produce especially fermented stuff like cheeses and dairy, smoked or dried meat, but also fruit jams, compote, etc.

Yeah that's not really my goal, but if it makes it easy to maintain around 10-12% with high energy it's worth trying. The sugar "fast" version is for rapid weight loss. The long term "sugar diet" version is just a classic high carb low fat diet, but you separate when you eat the two. Sugars/carbs only all day, protein only go the last meal at night. Add some fat if you get to lean, add protein if you want more muscle, cut back on both to lose weight. Pretty simple and not as restrictive as most think. Also it sounds like the FGF-21 boosting effects start working best around 12 hours faster eating protein, so you can easily throw in cheat days and hop right back on as needed. It's also incredibly cheap and I'm on a house poor budget and diet right now anyway basically eating the same shit, so I'd just be shifting around my meal timing more than anything.

Makes sense if he's a vegan. Only recently even heard of the guy and he claims to be natty today. In any case it's mainly an experiment for me. If it makes it easy to kick caffeine then I'll probably adopt the maintenance approach of carbs only all day, lean protein only for my last meal. Basically just a classic low fat diet with the meal timing moved around to optimize metabolism and energy levels. This video contains a ton of information for anyone curious, answered most of my remaining questions.

For weightloss high carb + low protein + nearly zero fat does work very well, as shown by all the skinny ass vegans and East Asians.

But you shouldn't do the extreme version of the diet for very long.
Freelee originally gained popularity by shilling it was a weightloss diet, and it worked very well. If you just do it for 1-2 years, and reach a normal bodyweight, then return to a normal diet.

>>76451188
East Asia has the worlds' lowest obesity rates.
Typical east asian diet is lots of rice + veggies + tiny amount of meat.

Extreme low fat probably isn't that healthy long-term, but in short or medium term probably is great for weightloss, but will make most people feel like shit, and their sex drive will drop off. But thats fine if you live in Thailand, where the freshest fruit in the world is.
