/fit/k/ here. I carry a little .380 pocket pistol most places I go. Most people like to go bigger, but I've never needed it. It's better than nothing, and most people aren't going to want to continue harassing you after a couple holes in themselves, or one of their buddies anyway. It's like wearing nothing at all too.

No. I live in a first world country where it is illegal to carry anything for self defense.
I do carry a multi tool which happens to have fairly large cutting tool but that's purely for utility and not for defense. I would never use it to defend myself, not when I can call 911 and have the police show up after my assailant has killed me and fled.

I have guns but live in canada so can't carry them
I used to carry a knife around
now I just don't care nor do I feel any sense of threat at any time
no reason to create that bad juju
also I'd rather not use a knife in some retarded situation where I could have just used my hands or de-escalated or ran off
even if it was self defense I'd probably go to jail

Carrying a pocket knife for its general utility is fine, but carrying a gun is nigger behavior. There has never been even one situation in my entire life where a gun was needed.

I used to get up early and walk between 4:30 and 5:30am. After several sketchy encounters I carried a knife. Nowadays I'm big enough most dont fuck with me. I regularly encounter people smoking crack or shooting shit and I just say good morning and move on.

Sometimes, I'll carry a knife on me in social situations because I like the thrill. Nobody knows I have a I knife on me, but I know. I don't intend on using it but it adds some spice to my night.

Knights Armament’s sr-15 upper with a bcm lower lpvo/dot combo but mainly I just use my ir laser under night vision. 6 mags up top with another 6 stashed in my pack. Tourniquets for each limb as well as a radio for backup.

My EDC is a small frame .357mag.

When I'm hanging out outside drinking or whatever I usually pack a hammer in case someone pulls a knife. I figured slapping someone around the face with a hammer is gonna put them down with less blood and death than a knife.
