Can you actually be muscular but also good at running?
Girls who run universally look hot, like it does not matter what distances whether it's 100m or half-marathon. However, for men only sprinters look good. Once a guy takes running farther as well as more seriously he becomes a weak skinny bitch.
Can you get a decent 5K, 10K, half marathon time as a gymbro? Like a guy who can run a 20min 5k but also mog everyone at his local run clun with his physique.

First of all that is ultra long distance runners only and it applies to women as well. Almost all the dudes I see on the running track I run are fit as fuck.

There's also the distorted expectations of retarded manosphere /fit/izens here. Not looking like a body dysmorphic ogre is one of the many benefits of running.

The skinny weak guy physique already starts at 800m distance. Just look up the Olympics finale 800m, they all look skinny. Once you pass 800m it's all skeletons.

But that means you cannot be muscular and a good runner. 5k olympians put in even more miles a week. If you want to achieve a decent time then you need to be a skinny skeleton.
I have never been to a run club but I can imagine the better half of guys there run a 15min 5k, so you are never getting there with a good muscular physique.

Running don't take away your muscles, only fat. The worst thing for people that lift and run is when your body start getting heavy from all those muscles and your kness turn into powder.

I would say I'm in this category. 230LB, 18% BF, did my last 5K in 27:00. Not world-class sprinter-tier or anything, but it's a sustained 8:45~ mile.

Yes, 100%. For a young guy with good genetics, an 18min 3 miles is achievable while being decently strong. Stray into the extremes, i.e. maratrooner or powershitter territory, and your physique will suffer accordingly.

yeah just take steroids and eat meat and potatoes for every meals
im not evening kidding if you juice on a normal runners training program and add in an upper body day 2-3x a week and one singular leg day you'll get fucking huge while also recovering way better
most youtube runners are secretly on performance enhancers anyway

I was part of a run club for awhile after getting the physique I wanted from lifting. The runners ran 10-13 miles every Saturday morning, and I was doing an extra 9 miles on Wednesday, while lifting 3 other days out of the week. I cut back from lifting 4 days of the week to complement my run schedule. I got to the point where running a half-marathon was ez, but doing a full marathon was next to impossible. If I wanted to train for a full marathon, I would have to sacrifice more days I spend lifting. Nearly all of the guys I ran with, who also ran marathons, had no muscle on their bodies, and a lot of them were skinny fat.

I suspect the reason they aren't muscular is because training to run a marathon and strength training causes too much mental and physical fatigue. No matter how much of grindset you adopt, there's only so many hours in the week to train. And your body needs to rest. You won't be able to adequately train for long distance running after PRing on the squat rack.

Running long-distances over strength training has its benefits. Running basically allows you to eat whatever you want without getting fat. It's also good for your heart.
