>why has most people's mental health gone to shit in the past few years
because of how terrible society has gotten, and how bleak the future looks. a lot of people blame the covid bullshit for it, but i think this would have happened regardless of covid
>problems with affordability of life and housing
>social relationships are not doing well, its been relatively difficult to make friends as an adult since the beginning of time, but now with how everyone is addicted to their phones, its even harder
>romantic relationships seem to be very difficult to get into and maintain for a lot of people
>so general loneliness is really debilitating
>future doesnt really look like its going to get any better and all these problems we face now are just going to get even worse as technology accelerates, isolating us even more, taking our jobs, and affordability is also not going to get any better
>most people get their self-worth from their job and career, and most jobs now are either deteriorating in number, or the genre of these jobs is white collar bullshit that gives you no meaning to your life and youre spending all this time just to produce nothing and have no tangible impact on society
so really, life now just seems like a march towards nothing for a lot of people. you wake up to go to work if you have job, and even if you do and are doing well, you dont have a marriage or kids to do it for or come home to, you dont have many friends to spend time with, its just a slog every day
then again, maybe this is just us being addicted to the internet and everyone on the internet complains about shit so we think things are worse than they are.
