Count calories, all of them.
Eat about 500-1000 less calories than your TDEE.
Buy scales, be accurate.
Learn to cook. Try to stick to lean protein and green vegetables.
Eat a lot of protein. 0.72g per pound of goal lean body mass.
Doing cardio, even just walking, will improve your health. There is no such thing as a healthy fat heart, but you can offset the risks.
Lifting weights will keep and gain muscle mass and lose fat much quicker. Not lifting results in the body eating away muscle AND fat.
Drink more water.

What's a good target deficit per day for someone who's working out 4-7 days per week, mainly cardio (60-90 minutes per session)? I've heard 5-700kcal tossed around as a 'safe' number.
I've got a lot of mass to work with, FWIW, not "my-600lbs-life" type but definitely noticeable

What do you find that diet soda does for you on your cut? Help, hurt, no effect?

I’m drinking it regularly for the first time ever (freestyle machines in theme parks got me craving peach fanta) and I’m not so sure it isn’t helping. I know it’s no substitute for water but I feel that kind of fullness all the same.

I don't eat a lot (I just until recently ate like shit), so I kind of have to force myself to hit the target deficit - I've heard if you have a 1000cal+ deficit most days, you're going to get tired, sluggish and generally kind of unhealthy. If I did 4-500 calories per meal, that'd put me at ~1500 consumed in a day, against a backdrop of ~2700 out on a good day, that's kind of a brutal deficit

you could have just added a little water and let it sit in it's juices. the general point of doing this is to remove the buildup in the pan (the flavor) and re-integrate it into the dish, i dont know if more oil will do that

I just checked it, I’m actually really excited. Smells and looks great. One other thing I worry about is the potatoes. Recipe didn’t say to do anything fo them just add them to the pan. They’re the small kind, 1.2 hours and they should be cooked right? Like all soft and shit? I’ve always fucked potatoes up even if I poke holes and pre microwave.
If this works it’s gonna become the majority of my meals. Should be about 3-5 days worth of OMAD 6 sausages 6 drumsticks and like 15 small potatoes.

Minimize what you can't control, maximize what you can.
Eat only in 2-3 set meals, no snacks, just water or whatever outside of that.

Swap out ingredients for similar but lower calorie alternatives. I don't know your diet, but stuff like lean mince, less sugary breads, various things like that. Greens fill out a meal and make it look like a big meal, but in terms of calories there's not much to them.

Thank you guys. It was amazing. Should get a few more meals out of that, but one of the potatoes tasted fucking horrible and I chucked the remaining 10 rather than risk it. Didn’t look green I washed them all. It tasted rotten, I’ve never spit food out of my mouth out of reflex like that. Like was actually close to painful it tasted that bad and I’ve had raw chicken raw beef rotten milk rotten yogurt etc. I’ll get more potatoes tomorrow.
I feel stuffed.
Just have to figure out what to do with the oil and grease that’s left in the pan because apartment has old pipes can’t really dump it down drain no garbage disposal either. Hopefully it solidifies enough to just scrape into the trash. May have to get cat litter for this sort of thing, way more grease/oil than I expected

I just came up with a great loophole. A can of Brunswick golden smoked herring is 160ckal which includes the oil which most people drain, ngl I usually slurp that shit up. I can instead put that oil aside until supper and brush it onto a chicken breast or whatever before I throw it in the air fryer. It's "calorie free" cooking oil because I already logged it with the kipper snacks.

In order to lose weight you need a calorie deficit, which may be 1000 calories a day. to avoid losing muscle while in a calorie deficit, you need a high amount of protein. To maintain that large deficit you need to have something that is as close to pure protein as possible. One serve of protein powder is around 110kcal with ~25g protein, but to get 25g of protein from milk its around 500 calories.

As long as you're not a giga casual with a tinny itty calorie deficit, shouldn't take longer than a year, at mooost two years if you're extreeeemely fat and need to lose like 100kg. If you're really in a hurry you can always increase the deficit or do more cardio, it's possible to lose like 100kg in a year, but it's not that easy, it's ~2060 kcal deficit, but fatties want to enjoy their 4000 TDEE and eat like 3500 kcal a day instead of eating like 1000 and losing weight significantly faster, so oh well.

If you've waited for 30 years, what's another year? Also, you can either start your diet now and be thin once you're 31, or you can can keep eating whatever and still be a fat fuck when you're 31.

Also, it's not like you won't see any results until 1 year later, like, half a year you'll already be significantly thinner.

Also, this might be discouraging, but it's not like thin people are getting laid left and right, tons of thin incels too

I'm sorry /fat/ tonight I have failed you. Its been a difficult few months. I've lost my fiancé, my job, and as of this week my car. But I chose to put down the fork and picked up the barbell. Protein powder, or a lean meat. 1800kcal is actually a pretty forgiving limit.

150g of pure protein is only ~600 calories, but you're not going to find 100% pure protein, if you get that from whey powder you're looking at roughly ~700kcal, if you get it from chicken breast ~800kcal, 93/7% lean ground beef ~1000kcal, all well within your limit. Pair it with broccoli and a potato, or whatever you want to fill out the rest of your calories. You probably want some fat if you intend to stay on this diet long, carbs are non-essential.

I hear you there. I can tolerate being hungry during the day but if I go to bed hungry I will wake up and midnight and raid the fridge. Holding off eating until the evening allows me to sleep all night and avoid this problem. Cutting out the slop completely as you say usually leaves me very hungry where as I can eat a pizza and actually feel great for 12 hours. Its not that bad.

0.6 - you can do this if you are not active.
0.8 - minimum if you are working out. I think this is "correct" for a lot of people. These people don't have massive shitty muscles from moving around a ton of fat and aren't working their asses off in the gym... right anon...you are working harder than most normies... right?
1.0 - probably the minimum where you want to be. If you are at 0.8 and have a bad day or bad calculation things get bad then you are short on protein. 1.0g/lb is a reasonable safety number. Maybe too much, but too much just gets burned as calories (not enough to really care about for your TDEE)
1.2 - bodybuilder recommend. Same thing as 1.0, but more muscle more need. If you are roiding out then yes, you need this number

There is also a practicality thing where it should be lean body mass for the grams/lb. I currently weight 240 and try to be at 1900 calories a day. It is working. There is no meal plan that I am unable to 240g on 1900 calories and be a healthy one. I aim for 180 - 190 as I figure that is my 1g/lb for lean body mass and also obtainable using less than 2 shakes a day.

tl;dr 1g/lb of lean body mass because there is almost zero reason to optimize low

Started a week ago. So, first week results.

Was: 120KG/265lb~
Now: 115KG/253lb~

Obviously it's only been a week and there's a bunch of factors that could play into, I doubt it's entirely weight loss, there's almost certainly a factor of water weight and daily variances. So, I'd estimate the true loss closer to 3kg, or about 5-6lbs. It could be higher and the scales could be 100% accurate, but let's be conservative to avoid future disappointment.

So, I'd say realistically I've lost about 0.8lb per day, which checks out in terms of a rough estimate of calories consumed versus TDDE.

Biggest change has definitely been diet. Mounjaro means I have zero interest in food. Eating has become a choice. I simply choose not to for a couple of the days. And it wasn't difficult.
If anything it's the other way around, I simply don't feel able to eat the 3000 kcal or whatever I did previously. Most days I've had around 1200kcal, and the meals have been lean meat and rice or some couscous or whatever. I still enjoy food. I simply don't need to eat all that much of it.
I don't imagine food from the perspective of taste any more. I look at images of food, and I don't feel hungry. I don't imagine how they taste, and then desire the taste. I mostly imagine the texture for some reason?

Been to the gym twice this week. So, there's some extra calorie expenditure there.

No side effects really. First could days, my stomach felt a little off. But, once that was over, it's been absolutely fine since.
You need to drink a lot of water on this stuff. So, fruit juices might be a good idea to get some extra nutrition.

But, I'm pretty impressed with the drug. It works, it feels pretty good to be on and I'm losing weight without issue.

I'm not currently counting calories. I might, but I feel for as long as I'm getting results, I probably won't. We'll see how I'm doing next week.
