>gym hired a bunch of new staff to train for new opening
>give free "diet reviews"
>don't know this when I walk in
>qt3.14 asks me if I want to try too spaghetti pilled to say no
>giggles when I explain I usually eat one large meal for breakfast high in protien. Near the gym is a mexican place that gives you a pound burrito filled with Steak, sausage, or Chorizo with eggs and cheese for like 7.99. I usually treadmill for 45minutes then some lightish weights
>usually, half a subway sub at lunch(it's close to work and we a ton of 1 ft long 699 coupons)
>After work finish the other half and bike over to hit the gym for gains
>usually something heavy fiber low calorie based at night with some whey(or some extra spicy ramen to blow everything in my intestines out)
>giggles when I mention this
>Wow anon don't you know you're supposed to do the opposite for growth!
>Oh I don't really know haha I heard it doesn't matter all that much
>get told that I need to eat the bulk of my calories and protein after working out within an hour
>gives me some gay meal prep guide to use filled with coupons to some slop website

Am I retarded? I heard it doesn't really matter all that much as long as you're still working out relatively close like 1-2hrs from when you last had a meal.

when I was lazy I'd OMAD like 3.5k calories in one sitting then gym 1 hour after and not eat the whole day
honestly doesn't matter unless your an athlete and gym is your job

I honestly don't know, one one hand digestion, recovery and growth are a continous process, on the other I've noticed that if I have my biggest clean meal after working out (400g beef, 100g rice, eggs, vegetables etc), I feel like I'm progressing better than when I wasn't eating my most nutrient/protein packed meal after the gym. May be placebo though, who knows.

Diet doesn't fucking matter
Some days I barely even eat protein. I barely even fucking eat at all. I still progress on my lifts and I lost a ton of weight. Strength went down a little but I'm not chasing numbers, I just do more reps to failure

Anabolic window is bullshit 60s/70s science that has long been disproven. There's really no need for autistic meal timing around workouts so long as you get all your macros throughout the day. Most of your recovery is being done while sleeping anyways lmao. Although OP even if you're not wrong you are indeed still retarded.

Yeah I "feel" like I am making more progress eating after, but when I eat before like Big->small->small I can do far more at the gym.

My gym is just on the way to/from work that's why I stop by twice

Kinda figured it was based on some old "this is how my pappy did it! that's how you should to!' science

Yeah, the body is incredibly good at allocating resources and operating under harsh conditions with sporadic nutrition. Granted once you get older you will benefit from dialing in your diet and being more consistent with it. Enjoy living fast and loose while you can anon.

you don't lift. diet is very important: calories and protein intake especially. if you don't get proper nutrition then L your training efforts are wasted, no exaggeration. I'd even say focusing on diet is more important than sleep or even intensity for reaching your fitness goals.

it kinda matters. usually carbs before and after working out (plus before bed if you have trouble sleeping), protein all throughout the day, and fats whenever.

It doesn't matter for a bodybuilder/strengh training. athletes might be something else. But for someone who just lifts, as long as you eat your calories/protein between your sleeps you are good.
