I understand the difference, I get you're not actively forcing them to gain weight. But do you encourage them to lose weight? Would you at least support them if they wanted to? Would you still love them, stay with them, if they did? Or do they have reason to believe you like them the way they are?
My dad wanted to lose the weight, and even got it in check a few times, but my mom would sabotage him - not majorly, just teasing, being a roadblock for healthier dinners and habits. Not even because she had a fetish, but just to keep because she couldn't match his self improvement, I think it was just hurting her feelings. He'd never been "morbidly" obese but having the correllated high blood pressure and failing to get it under control was enough to destroy his kidneys and eventually him.
It's splitting hairs either way. This is /fph/, the obese belong here. I am much more sympathetic than many, because I actually do care about them. I'm motivated not by disgust but by health concerns - I hate the lies and excuses that drag people and society down. Hell, I'm formerly obese myself. I even totally get being attracted to them... but here is not the place for it.
