The second they allow alternative browser engines on it, I'll agree with you. Now it's still a toy. I bought 11" Pro at the end of 2023 in light of the news of EU forcing Apple to open up for alternative app stores and browsers, and I'm still waiting for that to happen on iPads. Fucking fucks, fuck.
Safari is an unmitigated disaster. Firefox on ipad is even worse.

Also, have fun waiting for the disaster that is Mozilla putting effort into porting their engine for a subset of the iOS market.

One is a 3050 so I can casually game and have 2 monitors and because it was on sale. The other one is a Tesla P4 accelerator, which let's me do nifty little things with CUDA programming and local AI.

Put a drawer to the right of your desk, store the microscope in it to keep it from getting dusty/knocked off the desk. Get a headphones holder or banana hanger and put it on there, to avoid your headphones from resting on the monitor whilst not in use. Also put a houseplant there, breaks the dark mood of the corner.
Desk mat under your keyboard and mouse
Put a nice rug under your feet, really pays off in the winter. Get a lamp with warm light for indirect light in the room.

If you're willing to spend more, swap the desk and chair for something nicer.

not that anon but i have the fm/keys/and/drum
>fm
insanely fucking good for what it is. I cannot recommend it enough if you are just dipping your toes in. Even if you have other gear its a good buy. Its just an extremely capable little fucker. Im a full eurorack autist + other synths and whatnot and i constantly end up going back to it for one reason or another. Menu diving sucks and the card that it comes with to explain the signal pathing is kind of confusing but. not really worth worrying about right as you get familiar with it
>keys
also pretty fuckin good. Less capable than the fm by far but for a clean analogue poly synth. it rips in the lower frequencies and the filter is aggressive as hell in the right places.
>drum
dogshit. Its fun as a thing to have and you can get creative enough with it that. its passable if thats ALL you have. the sounds arent that great and i find it extremely frustrating to use
>also
using a midi keyboard/controller is pretty much mandatory. The size is really nice if you dont have a lot of room but the touch keys are hell to use and the pots can be annoying to use. Sequences feel fairly uncomfortable to use until you have how to do it memorized
>the rest
i have no idea. Never used'em

Somewhat true. My company intranet portal is reek of 2000s website vibe, with URL linking to multiple modernized enterprise software such as 365 and Box application. See the pic and you get the idea.

Fax and regal stamp are still fully used.

One hassle I dealt with often is procurement process for new machine, because i need to run two workflows, one for approval to purchase, one for having corporate stamp on printed out purchase form which to be faxed back to vendor.

Also, I can give you inside why programming monkey job in Japan can be shitty.

Any software projects in Japan are a clusterfuck with clients gave out vague feature request to general IT contractors like NEC and Fujitsu etc, then job get dissected out and distributed to IT contractors down to 7th - 8th deep of hierarchy level with the project fund gradually syphoned out for each submerging hierarchy. Clients are free to issue lot of feature request and change without period of extension granted most of the times.

Yup just like typical US government's IT contracts in general I assumed.

there will eventually be some laws that regulate it, but it's the freaking wild west right now.
if ai does disrupt the economy (and we're viewing this from an optimistic angle) it might make a compelling case for a universal basic income, where citizens have "something" to spend on all the products being created by machines, but we're probably too young to reap the benefits of that. chances are if it does happen, europe will get there first.

if you do get fired from your job, or notice clear reduction in profit, log and maintain records. you might need this in a court of law someday to get some kind of check. you can also move to a third world country where human labor is in higher demand. but goddamit you're right, things are fucked.

That doesn't mean it's actually possible. It simply means these boomers are going to dump a lot of fucking money into AI startup companies promising them the moon. Once the projects have run their course and a 60% accuracy/success rate isn't acceptable they'll abandon it. The smart jews who lied to upper management that the project was going well will bail out before the results are in and go to the next company with this (ultimately failed) AI project on their resume to scam the next set of boomers.

A headset uses a lapel pretty much, just 99% of the time cheap chinkshit. You should be able to find a good one for like 50usd.
As for curtains, looks like you have it already. Get a large carpet and decorate the place.

Considering that A1 Mini printer is below 200, you might be right.
Wait, what? Why is it cheaper in EU? Well, it is slightly over 200 for you burgers, but still a good value.

Maybe you're in an industry with a lot of make-work jobs or one where minor fuckups don't cost millions of dollars and send the jewish actuaries into a yiddish shitfit. It's not happening where I'm at. That doesn't mean they aren't trying though. If I get fired, it'll be for telling the truth that it can't work and why and blowing up the fantasies of these smallhats and boomers. I've had to do it, carefully, several times already and I'm being roped into a new project attempting it again now. AI simply isn't capable of doing the human-level decision making required in my industry, with the accuracy required to keep us from being bankrupted within a few years.

>they will usher in universal basic income, neetbux with strings attached such as getting no money but useless eater credits that ensure you are consuming only nutrition that is engineered to kill you fast and ensure you do not procreate
>population collapse
>a small ruling class enjoys all of the earths resources and enjoys garden of eden 2.0 where they are served by machines

Hi /bst/! I could use your help on choosing furniture for my room and general decoration!
I'm trying to finally set up all of my old consoles after a long time, but I have no furniture for it and my CRT has terrible burn-in (thanks for a shit seller on eBay). I'm trying to pick out something to set up like 10 consoles, but I've been having a hard time.
I have a desk in the top of my room and I want to put my CRT and other shit to the right of it on its own separate open book-shelf/TV stand, but due to my room being small, it might seem like a safer option to just buy one of those double sided desks.
Pic rel is my room and the small CRT is where I want to put my stuff. The shelf is about 3 feet wide and 2 feet long.
I can also use any advice on decorations, anime posters, tech shit, anything to spice it up!

the walls suck so you wanna work on hiding them.
start by having a couple industrial style standing shelves on the right side (black frame / wooden shelves)
alternatively, have one shelving unit, but do replace that smaller side table with something more sturdy, add a lamp and a plant on top of that.
put the case on the floor replacing the storage boxes,
having a floor lamp on the left (think nymane or something with spot lights).

I'm going to try to sell my monitor. Really I think it is too large for optimal ergonomics. Other than that it's a pretty great monitor.

Or maybe I will just not do anything with it and not have to deal with insufferable people. I am kind of worried about the prospect of having to deal with absolute morons

I'm thinking a single 24" monitor would be more ergonomically optimal

Not really. Especially if you're on a cut.
For example, you need like 3500-4000mg of potassium a day, that's 8-10 bananas. And that's on a day when you haven't been sweating a ton.
You're not always eating a salmon filet, not always eating beef, turkey.

It's impossible, and why so many have deficiencies.

Insurance. They really, really don't like paying claims. In 10 years I could see an additional workforce reduction where smaller policies are given to AI to write with a calculated gamble on the accuracy and, even if it's wrong, won't result in a claim. That might not affect the bottom line too much, but they'll be reserving the higher $ ones for humans to work up in the conventional way.

With that said, my point stands the smallhats will never give all the decision making over to AI. And the database/imaging systems facilitating all of those policy transactions, whether ultimately completed by AI or not, still have to be maintained, data normalized and integrated from multiple sources, imported and exported to other systems or leased/sold to other companies, so my job isn't going anywhere.

That, or a lot of companies are going to go under trying to be early adopters. And given businesses in this country are run like a nigger household with a 15 second time horizon and employ people like you with a warehouse full of "Feel For It Again" awards, that's the most likely case.

Nice CRTs. I've got mine, but I wish I had a higher-end model--or at least one with a manual somewhere online.

No CRT is worth more than $20, yet for some reason fags will gladly pay upwards of $100 for a mid-range model. SAD!

At the same time, I come across the occasional post of an anon boasting about their CRT-centric hoarding problem. They mention having rooms full of CRTs, that which they obtained 4 free (shieeeeeet). Likely an exaggeration or a lie altogether, but I get some sense of satisfaction there being anons with plenty of CRTs, that which they payed nothing for.

Nah, before a new generation of "retrogamers" started paying wild prices for old TVs, people were just throwing them away, putting on a side of the road, giving them away for free given you haul it away -- they are bulky and a headache to get rid of. Thrift stores were not accepting them at some point because no one was buying them.

I suppose it's not that out of the question to believe that at least 2 or 3 anons--from what I've read--have sheds/rooms full of them.
>giving them away for free given you haul it away
What changed? Why did people start paying for what was being given away? Was it just for the convenience of paying for exactly what they wanted, and a few sly boomers thought that they could make a quick buck? I was inquiring about a listing this one guy made about selling his sizeable stock of CRTs, and at some point I was informed that someone came by and bought them all--likely to resell. Hope they're all low-range shit kek.

I know for a FACT that whenever I see some combination of "RETRO", "VINTAGE", and "GAMING", somewhere in a listing, that it's just e-waste being sold more than what it's worth.

I think most people don't understand just how much of a gamble buying a CRT is nowadays. There's a million and one ways for it to commit seppuku and leave you without any way of feasibly repairing it.

the problem is that the quest for perfection is deeply rooted in the heart of man, but outside of his possibilities. Shit is all it will ever be. And the fucking wires in my ergo keyboard drive me mental

They're just record sleeves. Most of my collection is from recordcity.jp and all their LPs come with protective covers.
