Very cool Jensen

>>105563255>>105563323QVL list is just a suggestion, and not a be-all-end-all list.
It's simply a list of RAM working at confirmed/specified speeds. As long as you're not doing anything outrageous, 95% of RAM should work at motherboard supported speeds.
When in doubt, just go with major brands like G.Skill or Crucial. Corsair is a big 'meh'...
I am so fucking bored dog

If it doesn't work, then just return it.
Amazon typically has a lenient return policy--the most that will happen is that you'll delay your build for a few days, but otherwise you're gucci and/or you can always run it at slower speeds for better compatibility.
>>105563463The Radeon card owner couldn't orient his CPU cooler properly.
This is a daily reminder that you should be upgrading to a 4k OLED and no you do not need a 4090/5090 to play at 4k, even a 5070ti or 4080 will look better at lower settings on 4k monitor than maxed out with 500+ hz 1440p OLED monitor. Unless you are on a professional Esports team, there is zero reason to ever choose a higher hz 1440p monitor over a 4k one.
>b.bbbbut muh refresh rate
Even 60fps on 4k is far superior to playing at 500fps on a 1440p anyone saying otherwise is just a retarded poorfag coping they can't afford it.

>>105563663The only prebuilts I trust are from starforge.
>>105563463>>105563570The only think I will say otherwise is, unless you're using a fixed backplane, the HDD power is facing the rear, mandating uninstalling the back panel to add or remove drives.

>>10556348160fps is always inferior so I really don't see your point.
>>105563481To each their fucking own
If you are going to spring for a 4k, get a QD-OLED monitor.
Otherwise, pixel density is a thing, so if you do stick with 1440p, don't go above 27/28 in.
>Got one of the first relatively expensive Dell Gsync 1440p monitors>Still works great despite missing modern creature comforts like HDR
How does full HD look on a 1440p screen?
Bwos I'll be putting a PC together for the first time and I'm scared I'll fuck up and break everything and waste a shit load of money and never recover mentally
>>105563741You still have to remove the back panel to uninstall them, you dork

>>105563803No. I slide them out and take out the cables.
This is not complicated.
>>105563788Like ass, but beggers can't be choosers
Also never buy a monitor unless you've seen it in-person
You may even want to take a laptop to a brick and mortar store to test image quality, especially at lower/desired resolutions.
If you're on a budget, being picky is a luxury
>>105563803you're the one that can't greentext right, and if there's enough slack in the wires he could be unhooking them after pull it completely out. Of course, we know there's not enough slack in the power wires for that, that would mean using an extra foot of cable over the minimum, so that's obviously not the case, but it's equally obvious there's no backplane.
>>105563834Whatever, you do you
Still would make more sense if power and data were on the other side, but enjoy what small vanities you can afford
>>105563788I had my Switch hooked up to my 1440p Monitor and the games would all look fine but on my PC when I set a game to 1080p it would look awkward.
>>105563847>"You're posting wrong!"
>>105563857Shit, it'd be more complicated to have the cables sticking out from the front.

but it doesn't matter because we have LSFG so you can just 2x from 60 to 120 on your 4k monitor anyway. wont be as good as native but w/e. also for epsorts games you're not running at 4k, not even 1080p.

I noticed that there are GPUs with AIO cooling solutions attached with large radiators and I was wondering how the hell mounting those things even works, especially if you're also AIO cooling your CPU.
Do you need a case that's able to handle both? Do you have the gpu radiator blowing out the back and cpu out the top or vice versa? I'm pretty curious and would like to see pics of setups like that.

I'll replace thermal paste and liquid metal of a friend's laptop, I found the pic related online where the guy replaced both dies with PTM. Can I use regular thermal paste for the CPU with liquid metal on? Thermalright's Helios is also available as a PTM alternative but I suppose I need to cut it to size. NVIDIA always wins.
>>105567200depends on resolution and refresh rate desired. a 3090 at 1080p will get you like ~120fps AVG in modern games at maximum settings. so that's the benchmark
all of these CPUs should handle that, but:
5700 has only 16mb L3 cache so it's garbage and we'll ignore it. 5900x is only 12 core so id ignore it for that price.
5600, 5600x, 5700x, and 5800x, and 5800xt are going to give you basically the same performance in games and should handle the 3090 without bottlenecking. 5900xt will be a touch faster in games. then there's productive applications, which might need more cores, et cetera... basically do you need a 6 core, 8 core, or 16 core CPU?
5700x3d would be significantly faster in games, but slower outside of games than the other options. the 3090 is basically as fast as a 4070, which wouldn't really take advantage of a 5700x3d
if you plan on playing at 1440p or 4K, the X3D is even more useless.
consult the charts in these for some recent data, but these aren't exact
https://www.techpowerup.com/review/amd-ryzen-7-9800x3d/17.html
you want the cpu to be significantly faster than your GPU. 720p reduces bottleneck and creates an artificial environment to find how fast they really are.

>>105567359>if you plan on playing at 1440p or 4K, the X3D is even more useless.I disagree respectfully, having a better CPU gives you better performance when using something like DLSS quality or DLSS performance since it's rendering at 1440p or 1080p (performance) so it's not entirely true that x3d won't help at 4k.
>>105567327at 1440p and above, the bottleneck is usually at the gpu

>PCIe 28-pin (2x12+4) Ultra High Power, rated for 1500W
Adapter connects to two 2x6 connectors. For compatibility with older PSUs with only one or no native 12v-2x6, another two adapters are included to convert to three 8 pins (pigtail connections may work depending on expected draw). Primary adapter contains its own voltage regulation and balancing, hence some special stands or GPU-mounted hanging hooks are developed to hold that weight up and keep it away from any case floor fans. Wire gauge on the final lines increased from 16 to perhaps 14.
>>1055672005700x3d if you only care about maximum FPS in video games. this is the only one that would feel like a proper upgrade from the 5500 in games.
5900xt if you do real multi-threaded work on your computer and need 16 CPU cores
5700x or 5800xt if you want something that's fine and gets the job done in both games and normal desktop software

>>105568619It's great for the 5070ti. 10% can close the gap between it and the 5080. This video is the best example on how powerful a simple OC is on the 50 series. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dgMlLuPSHY8&t=8s Try out undervolting too. You can get close to OC clock speeds while using a lot less power.
>>105568619>>105568740Every GPU from AMD/Intel/Nvidia gains 10-15% from OC. They don't get anymore than that since they're power limited unless you do modding. So most people end up undervolting instead of overclocking. You lose 3-5fps but you end up saving 50-120w. It's especially noticeable on AMD where there's no fucking point going above 3ghz when 2.7ghz is basically same fps.

>>105569296Now how much of this is just because of cuda for AI?
>>105569343I doubt they're worse than Asus who kept me waiting for an rma on a very premium motherboard that eventually took 5 months to conclude
>>105569307Both are garbage, don't buy old crap
>>105569373thanks for not answering my question
>>105569390he did answer your question though, both are dogshit PCs you'd give your kid to play fortnite.
>>105569412No the question was "Will these CPUs overload the VRMs?"
>>105569454aight
they're cheap mobos but i doubt a 3700x will be a problem for your vrms. worst comes to worst you'll need to undervolt your CPU if you're stuck with these parts.
>>105568053Why you're imposing your use case? For majority of players who play competitive games on 1080p monitors this is completely fine. If you need more you buy GPU with more VRAM.
What's the safest 5080 brand to buy? No asus or gigashart please.
> tfw my wife just gave me a RTX 5070
feels good to have a good girl. Upgrading from a 3070
