Market share of what? All of the other non existent video streaming sites? You're also wrong in everything else you said, youtube is incurring ongoing costs of every fucking retard on the planet uploading 4k content for total viewers. Bandwidth is expensive. Servers for instantaneous loads is expensive. Then on top of that they're developing live streaming because thats what the market wants and thats like a 10x cost compared to serving pre-uploaded videos. They want money because this shit is expensive. The only way to get money is youtube premium or more ads. How are you unaware of all of this?

There are many news publications which serve their own videos/streams, usually behind a paywall thoughbeit.
Really my central point is, with Google now willing to sacrifice Youtube's usability to cover costs, there will be a more level playing field with indie sites which don't have a large corporation subsidising them.
