How could I access an external hard drive from 2 devices that are right next to it? Every HDD/SDD I find has only 1 usb port for 1 device at a time, but I need to access it from 2 computers and putting it in the cloud/server would be way too much work

Potentially even paying them monthly to "rent" some gutter tier $50 router, when it costs $100 to buy an average one at a store, $200-300 for something nice enough with a 1-3 2.5G/10G ports on it.

1. Go buy some ASUS router with a USB3 port on it. If you want something nice, look for reviews (REAL ONES. NOT YOUTUBE SHIT. Everyday filesystems do not support mounting on more than one host (there might be some specialized ones for servers though), therefore a USB drive with multiple ports wouldn't make any sense. You have to mount the drive on one machine and provide file-level access to other machines, e.g. with a network filesystem like SMB or SFTP.

Look up a disassembly video on YouTube for your model, if they use standard sata connection and power you'll need a drive dock, they are pretty cheap online but if you live near one of those Amazon returns outlet stores sometimes you can get a used one there pretty cheap, just make sure to look up it's product listing before buying it to be sure it isn't shit. The docks you find at bestbuy are barebones, the ones from Amazon sometimes support drive wiping/cloning without a computer attached.
