You should have swapped in a different clean drive with an OS that you already installed and configured for that specific laptops hardware in anticipation of this very scenario.

Also, if your OS is Windows the technician can just plug your hard drive into another computer as an external drive to bypass your log on password if you never encrypted your drive.
