I like when everything runs in the backend with PHP and MySQL and there's just jQuery doing some progressive enhancement to the outputted HTML.

Me too and I like when they don’t update it and allow multiple people to get r00t until supposedly one day someone else figured it out and brings the site down instead of reading the db for their own fun and enjoyment
