I went balls to the walls with one of the latests workflows in civitai for comfyUI and get one of those byzantine big ones and i'm fucked over 2 dependences.

prob not. chroma is a big, slow model. there are quants that make it more manageable but you need to fit in the t5 encoder too.

i've found that using certain nodes makes it impossible to recreate gens on comfyui, yet another thing for me to hate about it.
i have
text-in -> llm -> text-out -> etc
if i copy text-out to a new text-in node:
text out = text-in2 -> etc

is there a GPU chart anywhere for SD performance? I have a 3090 and i feel like the only reasonable upgrade for gaming and overall is a 4080 or 5080 as i dont want to spend over 1000. are the 4080/5080 better at genning than a 3090 despite having less vram since they are newer ?

VRAM is the most important factor when it comes to image and text generation. If you can't load that large model fully into VRAM then part of it hits your normal system RAM and that's at least an order of magnitude slower. Getting a newer xx80 card will generate things faster but eventually when you want to do something that doesn't fit inside 16GB then you'll "pay the price" in terms of significant speed reduction... which is the exact opposite of what you wanted.

Stick with what you've got. Yes it's a space heater and eats into your electricity bill but Nvidia didn't increase the VRAM amounts on newer xx80 cards so there's no real upgrade unless you go 5090 which I know you don't want to spend the money on.

I think it's because the standard "ultimate" upscaler is slow compared to using adetailer and the standard forge upscaler. So people use faster upscaler but there's a bit of a cost to it.
