>>105609353>>105609388Just so you know Samsung already showed off their 5K QD OLED back in January and many models based on the panel are expected to be released at the beginning of next year around CES time which should a few steps better in sharpness and get a bump in full-field brightness up to 300 nits which is finally on par with the norm for most non-MiniLED LCDs instead of just ~250 nits of current models . For their part LG are likely to begin production on a true RGB 4K OLED model late this year, again for release early next year as well so if investing in a new high-end monitor is a major deal for you, it might not be worth blowing your load right now unless and until there is a really good discount on one during Black Friday.

I think my Tower's power button might be broken. It blinked this morning when I tried to rouse it from sleep but it isn't responding. I durned off the power for a while and back on hoping that would do something but It doesn't.
Is there a way to turn the thing on forcefully? Get an external power switch from somewhere? Do something to the pins to effectively hotwire it? I never turned on "boot on power in the BIOS" so that doesn't work. I tried unplugging the power switch from the MB and back in but it still doesn't work.

>>105609571Im still adamant about OLED flickering. Many reviewers only look at white rgb max values for measuring flickering. Some also reduce monitor brightness but still use rgb max values white, a white image to measure flickering. And yes its true on these values oleds dont flicker. But now look at picrel 31 rgb values and you can clearly see how OLED flickers (turns black) with each frame update. 52 CORES OF PURE AYYMDEAD KILLING POWER
I was using a 55 inch hisense uh8 TV as my display. It was pretty good, blacks are deep, colors are bright, response time is good, goes up to 120hz (but I usually just run it in 60hz mode) but then after just one year it's starting to develop the blue spot issue, which, if you don't know, is when the backlight LED array starts turning blue in certain spots. It's not reversible and repairs usually tend to cost as much as a new unit.
All these years avoiding OLEDs because of burnin and this is like the third display i've had develop these blue fucking spots and bands so what's the point of avoiding one issue if I'll just get caught in another just as frequently?
If I went with a display instead of a TV would I be better off on lifespan?
Also going from 55 to like 20-30 inch display sounds pretty fucking jarring if I'm being honest with you so I just don't really know where to turn for a decent reliable display under a thousand bucks.

I'm just so annoyed right now trying to find a replacement digging through TVs and displays and it's slowly starting to piss me off. All this spreadsheet comparing. I'm 38 so I unfortunately grew up in an environment where shit was made to last so I'm really averse to planed obsolescence. This is the third time I'm replacing a "perfectly good" tv because of this backlight bullshit and it's starting to wear on me. And I can't just get any ol' OLED because I don't work a 9 to 5, so my standard usage isn't 4-5 hours a day evenly spread out across the week. I work a 12 hour nights with rotating shifts so I go in cycles of 3 work days, 2 off days, 2 work days, 3 off days. So when I use my PC it's pretty spartan 2-3 day runs of like 10 hours gaming, 10 hours browsing the web, even when I sleep on off days I have videos playing and shit in the background. I have 2 "drives" connectors at the PSU for 2 cables that connect up to 4 drives each in line. I only got 3 SATA drives. How do I do it? The last one in the line remains free or the first one in the line remains free? Or is there another reason my drives aren't appearing? I checked the data connection.

I think the consequence out of this was that WOLEDs could just pass through white light whereas QD OLED needs to emit red, green and blue to recreate white and thus potential leading to faster burn in? In return however the colours of QD OLED were better or something like this cause you don't filter wavelengths. I also faintly remember reading somewhere that blue LEDs are the fastest to wear off but no idea if this is right and is related to this in any way so take it with a grain of salt.

You need to move up to an mATX like the Lian Li A3.
https://lian-li.com/product/a3-matx/
>>105615744You don't need to upgrade if you have to ask.
Keep waitingโข to see if AMD will improve the interconnect & the memory controller for Zen 6.
You can also waitโข for Nova Lake-S to see if it can better utilize CUDIMMs, but I wouldn't keep my hopes up for this.
>>105613500Bought a miniled KTC, backlights died right after warranty ran out. Never again.
>>105614943He's been an ASUS ROG citizen for quite a while, not surprised he'd get an ROG OLED when the Pulsar monitors are MIA.
Gents, trying to pick between the Meshify 3 or Lancool 217. Both seem to have their benefits and fit the motherboard I have (EATX), but having trouble committing to either one. Anyone have experience with either or a recommendation of one over the other? Alternatives are welcome as wel
>>105615901280mm rad limit for the Meshify 3's top panel is almost a deal breaker for me.
If you're fine with it, I'd get the Meshify 3 over the 217 just for the solid side panel variant.
>>105615901Get whichever is cheaper or the one you think looks best.

i knew nova lake was going to be good, but not this good
>>105615798ahh thanks mate.. will get that case then
Are they not going to make more Arctic Liquid Freezer III 420 non-RGB? Only the RGB variant is in stock. :'( It's so ugly and gay.
>>105615901Meshify 3 by far
>>105615957>>105615973Thanks gents, Iโm tempted by the 217โs ability to keep the fans level with the PSU shroud, does seem aesthetic. Other than that, Iโll just hit whichever one is cheaper. No RGB for me, just plain old black fans.
>>105613275TUF is the perfect balance of practicality and features. Unlike "Prime" which is too cheap or ROG which is overpriced worthless Gamerโข slop. I hear MSI MAG is a good equivalent too but I've never bought anything from MSI.
Not sure if I want to upgrade or not and buy a new computer. Had this PC almost 9 years now. Wanted to play Elden Ring/Dark Souls 3 lately again but I'm getting lower frame rates recently and freezes sometimes. Not sure if my PC is just getting worn out. Is it a good time to buy a new PC or should I wait a while? Don't know much about building PCs or the current technological landscape.
Also I remember having issues with AMD a long time ago so I always made sure to get Intel, is AMD ok nowadays?

>>105616080Find some completed builds using a 360mm rad video card cooler with that A3 case to save you some headaches.
It's strongly advised to set the rad on the top panel for the pump's longevity, you need to pick a CPU cooler that will fit with the thickness of the rad + cooling fans.
Thermalright Peerless Assassin Mini 120 or Scythe Mugen 6 (dual fan) may work with a 360mm AIO rad on the top panel, but this is pure guesswork.

> The Asus ROG STRIX X670E-F GAMING WIFI ATX AM5 Motherboard supports the AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D 4.7 GHz 8-Core Processor with BIOS version 2403. If the motherboard is using an older BIOS version, updating the BIOS will be necessary to support the CPU.
>>105616368the mobos are generally handled so you attach a psu to them, stick an usb stick with the newest bios and click flash bios button and let it sit for 15mins. The mobo site has a detailed instructions for it.
otherwise the cpu wont work
For parts theres lots of overpriced stuff. Like you dont necessarily need win11 license that costs 100ยฃ, it can be bought from chinese sites for 5โฌ or activated for free, /g/ windows general has guide for it.
psu shouldnt cost more than like 120ยฃ
fractal north case doesnt need to be XL
the mobo can be bought for like <200ยฃ. The higher end ones mostly add more fast lanes for ssds but no impact on gaming perf.

>>105616368Get a 6000MT/s CL30 memory kit if you want a hassle-free experience.
The memory controller in these Ryzen CPUs isn't guaranteed to run that 6400MT/s spec at the optimal 1:1 ratio (memory speed : controller speed).
You can get the 6400MT/s EXPO kit and dig through the BIOS to make sure the 1:1 MEMCLK:UCLK ratio is enabled, but I'd run some stress tests to make sure the configuration is stable.

Not sure why you were considering these air coolers if you preferred an aesthetic PC build.
I'm glad AM5 finally moved to the LGA style socket (intel supremacy ftw). Am building another cheap AM4 platform for emulation and the cpu pins were bent (again). Still can't get the fucker to post. Jesus this neanderthal technology is so cringe.
GPUs doe, AMD werks. Pre-AM5 can suck it.
What the good GPU that pair with r5 5600?
>>105617179Probably 9060XT (16GB) or 9070 non-XT.
5070 kind of feels bad with its 12GB, but it's not that bad if you're willing to change some settings.
5060Ti 16GB feels a bit too pricey but it's an alternative to the 9060XT, slightly better too.
>>105615901Do you have at least one HDD? If yes, get the Lancool. Vertical mounted HDDs like in the Meshify 3 suffer from high temps due to no airflow at all. Inside the Lancool the HDDs are mounted close the front panel fan, so they have plenty of airflow.

>>105609428>>105609521oh great another 1200p type resolution no one will remember
I think I'm just done with TVs as displays. I don't have any problems with the tech but jesus fuck they're so non-durable I'd rather pay 300 a year for a monitor than 700 a year for a TV and have basically the same experience. Not to mention that the TV is a problem with size. I can't deal dumping a 50+ inch monstrosity every year especially since I have nothing that big to get it in so I can't even pick one up in a store but have to get one with delivery which makes return/replacement a massive pain in the ass.
