As with any other cable model and manufacturer, the quality of a cable will depend a lot on the cable material itself (thickness, outer layer, coating, etc).
I only have one cable from them, but it the best braiding quality of any other cable I own. Very tight., uniform, and even, while still being very flexible and soft. They are not part of the "cable cabal" (ivipq/xinhs and sister companies) so they'll have some neat hardware and cable materials/strands that you'll rarely see.

Gate has slightly stronger bass but issues with peaks/volume control for me with some sources.

Bros, I need help: my left earbud is almost inaudible. Right bud is working fine, both were working fine two days ago.

I cleaned out my Samsung Galaxy Buds FE *case* (note: just the case, not the buds themselves. There was earwax built up at the bottom, so I got some q-tips and dipped them in isopropyl alchohol and scrubbed the bottoms of the plastic case clean, taking care to avoid the gold contacts up a ways from the bottom of the cavity where the bud sits. I did not touch the buds whatsoever. Then, I left the case open for a day and a half to dry out completely (again, note that I did not seat the earbuds back in the case yet)

But now there's virtually no sound coming out of the left bud. If I crank the volume all the way to the max, I can hear it ever so faintly, and I can hear it increase and decrease as I change the l/r balance in the galaxy wearables app. I can also reliably use the tap controls on the left bud (e.g. play, pause, turn on/off ambient.)

What the fuck is wrong with this thing? How could this happen? Isn't isopropyl safe for electronics? How could it even get into the thing through the plastic? What does the case have to do with the sound of the buds anyway? Isn't it just for charging? I would've stuck with wired but the 3.5mm dongle scraped the shit out of my usb-c port and it cuts out all the time.

If I try two IEMs while being blindfolded, I wouldn't be able to distinguish a 30$ one from a 300$.

Unironically, a pair of AirPods works better out of the box than any IEM I've tried so far.

I wouldn't say a scam outright, I think most who are not all that familiar with the more technical side of things will experience things that make the whole hobby more enjoyable, so more power to them.
It's just that a lot of them also step out of their perception-based world and try to link what they hear to stuff like transients, speed, decay, etc. without understanding what these entail.

Because it's the perfect mix of technology and perception. Have they made anything as good as The Dash Pro yet? Touchscreen controls on the pod itself, good isolation, passthrough audio, bone conduction microphone. I wasn't even really using them for music, I was using them for phone calls and to normalize loud noises just in every day situations.

Are there any non-apple wireless IEMs that aren't shit?
I bought Soundcore Space A40s and they're fucking garbage.
The sound quality is OK, (similar to some $10-15 wired IEMs I've had), but the build quality and durability is garbage.
I've gone through 4 pairs under the 18 month warranty, now the case for the latest pair (which I got 4 months ago), is fucked up in some retarded way and won't charge them properly; and I'm out of warranty.

So is there anything that is actually any good?
Or do I just have to cuck out and buy airpods pro?

I made my own IEMs several years ago, using dual drivers and two silicone tubes. MMCX connector. To be honest, I half-assed the finishing, but they worked great. After my second clear cable started yellowing, I hooked them up to the Fiio UTWS3. They've taken a beating, and I'm looking to replace them this year - the whole set. However, I don't seem to have any of my old bookmarks used to learn the process.
Do any of you kind folk have an up-to-date resource about sourcing components for custom IEMs? Any recommendations on drivers, connectors, etc? What are your experiences with IEMs and what are your personal preferences?
