I literally have a brave browser with 21 tabs open and a youtube video playing in the background, 2 Zed editors, a bunch of terminals and a few smaller programs, and the line nautilus opened, and this is my CPU (AMD Ryzen 5 5500U, not even a powerful one)

HOW IS KDE USING THAT MUCH CPU FOR NOTHING???

KDE takes pride in making retro computing UI design. They are always trying to make their OS look like you are exactly 20 years in the past.
Can't wait for when they discover flat/metro UI.

I have a 360hz monitor and unless I set it to 240hz I cannot use adaptive sync on auto or enabled without experiencing either flickering/frameskipping or the monitor blanking out.

Also artifacts

Unitonically yes. Kde blur is very inefficient that's why the Korners bug stayed for so long, having it curved would kill the CPU in seconds. And on top of blur they add another layer of "contrastic" blur.

Brother, I used KDE. Your settings app is comically bad. One time I fucked up something by trying to install a theme, and after trying to fix it repeatedly, I asked for help, and the people at KDE just said, "bruh, just reinstall your OS"
There is a ton of settings that NO ONE uses, but hey, if there is an option, there is a configยฎ

Its always a tradeoff, simpler ui = less upfront functionality.

aka, if I have a window with 100 buttons , that all do different things, vs a window with 10 buttons and 10 pages to access the same items, which is superior?, the first option is always going to be faster than the second one if the user is capable of handing it. the second option is going to be less confusing but requires more interaction.

great, but can you please fix IME support across frameworks so I can japanese in my wine apps or even in firefox? it may suck ass to use gnome but it sucks less ass than typing out something in a supported text editor and having to copy paste that into your app instead of just typing into the app like it's always worked

i'm still tracking plenty of bugs that didn't exist in plasma 5. they may have fixed the worst of the bugs, but there's still plenty of ongoing polish issues
>Right now it's light years above kde5
how so? other than wayland (which has its own set of annoyances) having better multi-monitor/hdr/hidpi support, it's the exact same shit as plasma 5, just with regressions.

frankly, i never experienced much krashing on plasma 5 either. just the early screenlocker breaking bugs which, funnily enough, plagued early plasma 6 even worse. the fact they even released such broken, unusable garbage was honestly shocking. anyway, my problem is really with all the minor bullshit k'bugs, those irk my autism to no end. 5.24 was roughly when they started to seriously stamp that shit out, and i would say 5.27 was nearly perfect. then everything went to shit again with plasma 6.
