This is not true, I can hear the quality difference just fine, there's a second or two latency, and the audio starts cracking if I move my phone more than 1 meter away from the AVR. At that rate it's easier to use a fucking cable.

Reminder that only Apple (from tip to sleeve) use LRGM which is shown in >>105630452 (OP) so that graphic is retarded, everyone else uses LRMG meaning if you plug earpods into a standard TRS or TRRS port, there's no ground for the L and R channels so all you would hear is the side channel (difference). You have to hold the mic button down to get the mono signal back and even then the side channel is boosted by 6db.
