since it is very hard today to get into BTN, even if you are really good standing user/uploader with account older then 5 years at the top trackers, can someone tell if MTV is still good tracker as alternative to BTN and do they have tv-series in UHD quality?

please experienced PT anons, tell me honestly because i really don't want to apply for official invitation at tracker which i'm not going to use and to participate as an active user and i don't want to be disappointed if i ever make that decision to apply for MTV.

i'm not a collector of trackers and if i really like some tracker, than i will became uploader when i introduce myself better to the community and when i fill up some requests to prove that i'm worth user.

But boy, trying to get into private trackers is really a drag, I just want a decent source for movies and TV and would have no problems with ratios.
There is a lot of info shared and I appreciate that, but honestly it's throwing me for a loop. Needing multiple sources of proof from multiple private trackers that you can't even access because you are new to private trackers in the first place.
It's true I haven't been trying all that long, but I'm not sure I have the patience. You can't get in unless you're already in or check Reddit every day for months looking for an open signup (or pay?). I guess I'm just used to getting things done easier than that (and no, I'm not paying).
Maybe I need more patience... but gawd I'm older than dirt in internet years. I've used a phone in a cradle for dial up access, knew someone who went to jail for Phreaking, been on 4chan 18+ years, I'm not used to this private tracker frustration.

Why is everyone on private trackers so lazy? There are more people willing to archive and share content on sites like youtube, archive.org etc. but when it comes to torrenting (which is based on sharing, you can only download because somebody else is currently, actively sharing) people are so lazy and selfish. Top tier trackers might be the exception to this but even mid tier trackers, which aren‘t particularly hard to join, but still require at least some kind of effort and time to get into, are full of lazy leechers. Why do torrent shitters always need an „incentive“ to share? Why can‘t we just share for the sake of sharing. I understand that this is why most people joined private trackers in the first place. It‘s not fun to have your HDD raped by an Indian who immediately stops the torrent after finishing the download. But even on every single mid tier tracker the willingness of the average user to share is so low. It really is just a handful of good users on these trackers that do the heavy lifting. I have uploaded many torrents myself and I know how frustrating it is to see the only 2 snatches stop seeding immediately after the requirements are satisfied. We need to create more of a sharing for the sake of sharing culture.

Honorifics attached as suffix to names are just a part of the Japanese language. They have no more special cultural meaning to them than the many other elements of keigo. If you truly believed what you said, you should be saying that for everything in keigo rather than just the name-attached suffixes, and that's not even getting into other stuff like first person pronouns. Long story short, you are just completely wrong - honorifics are perfectly translatable, and the most likely real reason you like them is simply the Japanese Flavor they give to the text. Which, for the record, is actually a perfectly fine reason to like untranslated JP honorifics in your JP media translations! That's what the honorific tracks in my releases existed for.

Because that, my friend, is an extraordinarily poor justification. You could apply that kind of justification to just about anything and end up in a situation where you translate nothing at all.

To give an example of that via English, imagine a script that makes a pun on the word "table", that plays on the two meanings of "a literal table you put things on" and "a data table". This likely cannot be directly translated to several languages. Yet you can translate "table" to other languages just fine >99.99% of the time. Should we thus start leaving "table" untranslated in EN-?? translations everywhere on the off chance that a pun like that appears in the text? No, of course not. That would be just extremely silly. And it's the exact same situation with JP honorifics.

As I said, it is perfectly valid to like the inclusion of untranslated JP honorifics in translations for the Japanese Flavor alone. You don't need to try to cook up these kind of silly translation-based justifications for having them. Just be honest with yourself!

You should really watch more anime if you actually believe that, because no, it does not. Just changing the honorific alone is quite rare - it is far more common for characters to switch from family names to first names and that's a situation you can handle just fine without any JP honorifics being involved. Even stuff like "you can drop the -sama" is more common, and that one will usually translate just fine too because you're likely already using an explicit honorific like Lord/Master/etc in the translation for the -sama.

And there actually isn't that much "nuance" to just name-attached suffix honorifics in most cases. A honorific like "-kun" might have multiple meanings, but just like the English word "table", in context it usually boils down to just one specific meaning in particular.
