I bought it because it's one of the only hole-less phones on the market and unlike the Nubia Z70 it doesn't have an enormous camera tumor.

There's really a market for a (waterproof) modular smartphone that requires undoing screws to open. Swap the eMMC, swap the camera module, swap to a thicker frame to fit a bigger battery, swap the USB-C for a magsafe, add a LoRa or UHF module, add another SIM or micro SD slot, that kind of shit. Even if the end-user barely ever opens their phone, the point is that you can end up with a hundred different versions of the same phone without broadening your manufacturing. Allow for third-party modules like a quality DAC and a balanced audio output, or a serial port, or even multimeter banana plugs.

My thought is to have a thin battery right up against the screen and have the mainboard down the middle of the back cover, with the modules on either side of the mainboard. But in practice you probably need areas not covered by the battery for the rear-facing camera and for the charge-port.

I'm still internally debating with myself whether or not I want a Unihertz Titan Slim over a more conventional smartphone, or if I can handle something as big as the Titan 2. I 3D printed a mockup model of the Titan 1 that I found on Thingieverse to see how I felt about it and from what I can tell the TItan 2 will probably be a lot of fun to use two-handed, but one handed typing is going to be out of the question. It will probably fit in my pocket, albeit barely. I'll have to see if it fits the X-mount on my dashboard because if it doesn't that could be a dealbreaker.

I'll hold off on getting a new phone a little longer to see what the early reactions are when the Titan 2 kickstarter rolls out since they'll probably send review units to Youtubers. If it has a decent camera, a dedicated headphone jack and maybe even a stylus that could be enough to sell me on it (assuming it fits in my dash mount), but the Titan Slim might be more practical for me. I wish it was the Titan Slim 2 they were launching this month because that would make the choice a lot easier for me.

I tried fitting that 3D printed dummy Titan 1 in my car's Ram Mount X holder, and sadly it's a no-go. I kind of doubt the Titan 2 will be smaller in any significant way, so it might simply be too big to fit into my life currently.

I've been on one of those shitty fire tablets for years to read manga and such, but it's worthless for anything else, even after removing all the amazon stuff from it. Was eyeing the oneplus pad 1 when it came out, but decided to stick with what I have, but 2 years later not sure I can do the same.
So, just saw the Pad 3 is coming out, and seems with a couple discounts the 512gb version will be 540€, with a pen included. (Are oneplus pens even good?)
Usually not the type to buy new pricey tech, but a 12000mAh battery is enticing.
Only downside I see is the LCD screen, if I pay a chunk for an android tablet, do I just get an Honor Magicpad 2 for the OLED screen, albeit having worse specs in every other way?
