I think it will take about 5 years but we will see AI replace CGI in a lot of areas. Really the only major hurdles are consistency and shitty 3d models. Both of which can be compensated for with human in the loop and specialized workflows. But we might see filmmakers use it in the next few years to make small corrections in editing.
