I really like the general idea of having an text-based website with aggregated news and with the discussions etc.
But it was completely destroyed by the type of crowd it attracted, bots, political groups and lonely cat women that hate men.

The fact that downvoted replies are ranked at the bottom or even hidden is probably a big reason why it's so awful now.
They also recently started warning people for upvoting comments with a negative score.
