why don't we just ask AI to make an OS from scratch in assembly, port the troonix drivers from kernel tree and make it fully windows compatible by feeding it the leaked XP source code? Just let the AI test the OS in a VM and correct the code until it can run cyberpunk 2077, Photoshop and Firefox.

Well? Why don't you? We're waiting, dumb frogposter

Because ai can't even get hello world right if y9u ask it to put a ! and no comma

AI just toss random code if their dataset don't have it

Why don't we just ask AI to compile a list of retarded frogposters to exterminate?

how can it make a list of froposters if we don't use a tripcode?

alexa make me an OS that isn't gay or retarded

VR works, people just can't be assed to put the headset on and stand up instead of sitting down and looking at a monitor

alexa, make it multiple actually

i mean... why not?

VR has no usecase outside of porn
LLMs have no use case outside of emulating Indian tech support staff

How many lines of code is an OS?
That will be the biggest problem
Even gemini starts going crazy after 10k lines sometimes

It'd be close enough to AGI if it could write a compiler or OS from scratch! (It's not yet though)

It already writes conpilers tho

Lol... I had one of the big reasoning models try to come up with a toy isa and write me a toy assembler for a simple toy language, given a few simple constraints. It did poorly, managed maybe 2 pages of code, mistakes started piling up.
I guess it would be possible if you fix some 4-5 important issues with current LLMs, but industry moves slowly and experiments are too costly, until we all have multiple TBs of VRAM at home, this whole thing is moot. Not saying it's not useful though, but I'd be surprised if AGI in 3 years.

Because AI cannot code coherently or long. Its preddy gud for small coding tasks currently in most programming languages

But for longer, more complex and more token consuming tasks it still needs to evolve better
