there isnt any way to see them at all, they just hide them

try posting something vaguely inflammatory and then log out, chances are you won't be able to see it at all

Yeah, there are several censorship levels, even if the channel owner sets the autohide settings (whatever they're called) to the most lax. Some comments get hidden unless you filter by new, others get hidden completely. I was mostly referring to the first type, sorting by new trying to find the one you want is annoying and time consuming when there are many comments on a video.

Youtube allows even worse things, like a video of a gay guy getting a dildo or a dick put in his ass and he has to guess if it's a real dick or not. The video isn't even age restricted and it has ads.

i never comment on youtube, but i commented on a video the other day and noticed my comment had somehow been deleted. it was a normal respectful nice comment too.

its based on past comments too. if you were edgy in a comment 1 week ago and totally passive and meek in your next comment, it'll still likely get hidden too.
its some kind of score that gradually goes down/up based on your vocabulary.
over a threshold you just arent seen.
